Christmas carolers are traditionally dressed in turn-of-the-century garb, beautifully belting out a hit list of Christmas classics, but today’s carolers are more varied. Some prefer humanitarian efforts like singing to the elderly and sick while others enter competitions to out sing their fellow carolers. No matter where you lie, you can participate in this timeless Christmas activity whether you have singing chops or not. View the list below to see where you can listen to carolers or become one yourself.

The holidays are a time for celebrating family, but there are countless individuals without a family and a real home. Traditionally, carolers travel door-to-door bringing Christmas cheer, but this year they can bring hope to the shut-in. Led by life coach Casandra “Coach Cass” Roache, a group of 15 to 20 well-wishers visits three to four local nursing homes and sing to the elderly. No singing experience is necessary. It would be remiss not to mention a neighborhood where you could actually go door-to-door and carol. While some South Florida neighborhoods can be unfriendly and unsafe, Coral Springs gets in the spirit every year, decorating homes with grandiose Christmas displays. It’s a sight to behold and a refreshing reminder that the Christmas spirit still lives. If you select this option, knock only on the doors with christmas decorations. It will weed out uninterested community members and ensure a more pleasant caroling experience.
