Top LGBT Pride 2015 Events In South Florida

Since 1994, LGBT History Month has been observed during the month of October in the United States, however, since the turn of the century, June has been widely considered LGBT Pride Month not only in South Florida but across America. On two separate occasions, U.S. presidents have deemed the sixth month of the year the most opportune time to celebrate equality rights. Former President Bill Clinton was the very first to declare June of 2000 "Gay & Lesbian Pride Month." Nine years later, sitting Commander in Chief, Barack Obama, echoed Clinton's sentiments and acknowledged June 2009 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month. In 2012, Broward County joined Los Angeles as the only two school districts in the United States to celebrate LGBT History Month. Thus, South Florida is home to some of the best LGBT Pride events in the country and June 2015 is no exception.
