Top Easter Day Events In South Florida

The options for celebrating Easter Sunday and the Easter weekend don't have to be restricted to home and your favorite place of worship alone. There are a number of fun and family-friendly activities to engage in by the morning or afternoon involving games, Easter egg hunts, live entertainment and more. Some of the liveliest attractions in South Florida feature special events for the holiday from Jungle Island to Miami Seaquarium, and they're sure to create plenty of unforgettable memories. The featured events include activities appropriate for the youngest members of the family that would even be appreciated by the most senior.

Adding to the daily fun of the famous Miami Seaquarium, Easter time brings along the annual Bunny Palooza event with plenty of activities and surprises. The six-hour day in the park features numerous Easter egg hunts, slides, rides and bounce houses for the children. In addition to the usual guest-starring animals, from manatees to dolphins, the Easter Bunny will be making an appearance. The Easter Parade will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Zoo Miami presents five hours of Easter festivities on both the Saturday and Sunday of the holiday weekend. The theme is dinosaurs for an interesting twist on the Easter egg hunt which will take place several times throughout the weekend in addition to activities, games and appearances by the Easter Bunny. The Easter egg hunt is for children 12 years of age and younger. Zoo members may begin their hunt at 10 a.m. prior to general admission Zoo Miami hours. The 2015 Dino Egg Safari is included with regular zoo admission.

The gorgeous and exotic Jungle Island is home to numerous habitats and species of animals and they always know how to throw a great event. Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Easter weekend brings Easter egg hunts, visits by the Easter Bunny, rides, live musical entertainment, arts and crafts, and more. Admission to the event is free with park admission and each child receives a goodie bag. Jungle Island also features an Easter Sunday Brunch in the Treetop Ballroom. Reservations must be made by April 2, 2015.

The Egg Scramble at Pelican Community Park is a four-hour event featuring games, arts and crafts, carnival rides, and live music. The Egg Scramble egg hunt begins at 10 a.m. sharp. Children are able to dive and search among beach balls to find Easter eggs filled with candy and toys. Admission and parking are free of charge. Visitors arriving by the city shuttle bus will receive special gifts.

The 2nd Annual Eggnormous Easter Egg Hunt in North Miami is an interactive event focusing on activities between parents and their children. The afternoon of fun includes games, giveaways, a bounce house, a rock climbing wall, face painting, and more in addition to food and refreshments. The Easter Bunny is slated to make a special appearance at 4 p.m. Pre-sale tickets cost $15 per person.
