South Florida 2012 Holiday Concert Preview

It's that time of year again. And what better way to celebrate than to attend a local holiday concert? While some of these performances are new to the area this year, others have become annual traditions. Whether you're looking for a holiday show that appeals more to the kids, a more sophisticated event or something that the whole family can enjoy, South Florida's got you covered.

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra returns to South Florida once again, this time to debut the group's live Christmas show presented by the the Hallmark Channel. The concert will open up with "Faith Noel" and the orchestra will also perform hits such as "Queen of the Winter Night," "Christmas Canon Rock," "For the Sake of Our Brother," "Different Wings," "Midnight Clear" and more. Although the Trans-Siberian Orchestra will only be in town for one day, there will be two performances - 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Ballet Etudes of South Florida and Balleteatro Nacional de Puerto Rico will join together for this year's Holiday Ballet Gala in Miami Beach. The performance will showcase works from each ballet's repertoire and will end with "The Nutcracker Suite," featuring dancers from both ballets. This year, the circus will come to South Florida, but with a holiday twist. What is deemed as the "greatest show on Earth," this Holiday spectacular will showcase an array of circus acts, holiday music and more. The Palm Beach County Convention Center will feature multiple shows for six days during the last week of December. Children ages two and older must have a ticket to attend the show.

Celebrate this holiday season with a concert from five different contemporary musicians. In addition to seasonal hits and their own songs, this lineup of singers will also accompany a gospel choir. The singers featured at the event will include Peabo Bryson, James Ingram, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr. and Stephanie Mills. It is a show that the entire family will love.
