Top Pumpkin Dishes In South Florida

Fall is the time of year for apple-spice goodness and everything pumpkin. The market is so saturated with pumpkin dishes during the fall that you can't open a menu without seeing a highlight about the chef's latest take on pumpkin. The worst part isn't the advertisements. It's when the pumpkin dishes are discontinued in favor of more wintery cuisine. But have no fear. There are several South Florida restaurants that serve pumpkin and squash year round so you never have to rush to find your favorite fall flavor.

Fresco California Bistro

1744 S.W. 3rd Ave.
Miami, FL 33129
(305) 858-0608

Fresco California Bistro doesn't make ordinary pasta and that's because it makes its own pasta. Fresco's corn ravioli is a foodie's favorite but the ravioli di zucca, also known as pumpkin ravioli, is a signature dish. It's served in a mascarpone cheese sauce and the flavor is creamy and bursting with pumpkin flavor. The taste is so devine that you'll never go back to the standard cheese ravioli again.

Michy's is always at the top of south Florida 'best of' lists and there is a reason for that. Chef Michelle Bernstein pairs delightful and unexpected ingredients in each and every one of her recipes. For instance, her tasting menu sometimes includes squash blossoms filled with shrimp mousseline or you can also order her butternut squash risotto. Either way, you will get a gourmet meal that is incomparable to any place you've ever been.
