Ever since the first photograph of a person was created by French inventor Louis Daguerre on a Paris street in 1838, photographers have sought to capture candid, posed or staged moments in time. Some merely document and duplicate reality, but still more create a unique vision that juxtaposes the artist’s reality with our own. Ansel Adams, one of the most gifted photographers of our time, once said, “You don’t take a photograph, you make it.” If your eye is hungry for visual interpretations, urban and contemporary or abstract and surreal, Miami is home to several outstanding galleries.
