Best Bars To Watch College Basketball In South Florida

For the 75th anniversary of the college basketball tournament, there's no sign of slowing down and dimming the celebrations. The registered name for the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) men's and women's tournament rhymes with chaos and frenzy. The 68 teams and their millions of fans are electrified by winning and playing again or desperate for having lost and having to go home. No matter the team (in need of inspiration, we have the UM Canes and the FIU Gators), what is important is where to go and watch the game. We compiled a list of the best bars in South Florida to storm for the games, brackets ready.

Burger And Beer Joint

1766 Bay Road
Miami Beach, FL 33139

Brick walls, wooden stalls, chalkboards for scores, a pool table and $5 beers make the backdrop for the perfect location for tournament viewing. If you add 99 types of bottled beers, a series of make-it-yourself burgers and the 10-pound Motherburger (free if a person finishes it in two hours, otherwise a whopping $125) the setting is ideal. There's almost no need to mention eight flat-screen TVs on both floors to vote B&B Joint the bar at the Beach.

Foxhole Bar

1218 14th Court
Miami Beach, FL 33139
(305) 534-3511

With an unmarked entrance, a dark alley and just one red light lit on the grey door, Miami Beach's Foxhole Bar is the best-kept secret lounge bar. It is an off-the-beaten-path lounge that surprises for its sleek interiors like polished cement, marble bars, leather stools, a pool table and darts room (right at the entrance) with vintage video games and a more quaint upstairs. This speakeasy-style lounge is great for watching a game.

A huge bear at the entrance and a mechanical bull make this log cabin in the tropics unique. Built out of natural materials like river rocks from Colorado and logs from North Carolina, the bar was conceived with the idea of a hand-made meal to be enjoyed in front of a cozy fireplace. Over 30 types of beer and 32 flat-screen TVs, four plasma TVs and Certified Angus Beef plates make you forget about the scorching temperatures outside and feel the heat of the games. And just as an extra detail, the bar is 95 feet long so there's room for everyone.
