Top Art Walks In Miami

Art lovers, get ready to experience your fill of art throughout Miami when you participate in the very best art walks this town has to offer. Art walks are public events that allow you to walk into participating galleries or studios and view their exhibits. These events offer residents and tourists an opportunity to view paintings, sculptures, drawings, photography, mixed media, hand-made jewelry and more from local and international artists.

Wynwood Art walk was created to showcase the art galleries within the Wynwood Art District. Art enthusiasts can walk into the galleries along North Miami Avenue on the second Saturday of each month. This event used to take place on the first Saturday of the month, but it has since been combined with the Design District and the dates have changed. There are more than 60 galleries to visit along with the Design District businesses, which typically focus on interior design, but also have some art gallery offerings. So put on your comfy walking shoes and treat your eyes to some great artwork. Most galleries offer free alcohol and snacks, but these goodies go quickly, so arrive early if you want to partake.

On Saturday evenings, there is more than one reason to stroll through the streets of South Beach, especially along Lincoln Road. Here you will find galleries open to the public that allow for a peek at artwork from some of South Florida's Art Center members. The Art Center provides membership, gallery space and public art classes to those who want to try design, drawing, painting, photography and jewelry making. Participating galleries may vary. The Grove brings art to the streets in a monthly art, music, dance and food extravaganza. Come out to the Grove Art Walk on a Saturday evening and you'll be able to visit all of your favorite galleries. Paintings, photos and mixed media will be on display for interested eyes. When you're finished, get some shopping done at Cocowalk and the Shoppes at Mayfair.

There are no galleries here. Industrial spaces have been converted into working art studios. Stroll in and see the way these emerging and well-established artists work; view their exhibitions and the tools they use to create their work. The area features Latin American artists and was voted Best Art Walk by The New Times. Free parking is available along with a complimentary shuttle and free wine.
