Tropical Storm Nate
After battering itself for several hours over Veracruz, Mexico, what once was once Tropical Storm Nate has been downgraded to a tropical depression.
Tropical Storm Nate picked up speed and strength Saturday as it started to move more quickly toward the Mexican coast, prompting the Mexican government to issue hurricane warnings from Tuxpan to Veracruz. People were warned to complete final preparations for Nate’s arrival.
Tropical Storm Nate continued to drift Friday morning in the Bay of Campeche off Mexico’s coast.
A reconnaissance plane has found Tropical Storm Nate has gained strength Thursday afternoon, but remains nearly stationary in the Bay of Campeche, according to the National Hurricane Center.
With the zenith of hurricane season is just a few days away; it’s becoming quite busy in the tropics as Tropical Storm Nate formed Wednesday evening in the Bay of Campeche.
