Transformers: Age of Extinction
The intergalactic misfits of “Guardians of the Galaxy” are the summer’s box-office superheroes. Marvel’s cosmic romp topped the Labor Day box office with a three-day take of $22 million.
“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” maintained its box office rule with $36.3 million over the weekend, according to final studio figures Monday.
The summer box office continued to lack mojo, as the R-rated “Sex Tape” failed to turn on moviegoers on a weekend where “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” maintained its rule.
“Transformers: Age of Extinction” is ruling the box office.
