Phelps Says Swimming On Hold After DUI Arrest

Putting his swimming career on hold after his second DUI arrest, Olympic champion Michael Phelps began a six-week program Sunday that he said “will provide the help I need to better understand myself.”

Nyad Attempts Florida Straits Cross One Last Time

After several failed attempts to swim to the Florida Keys from Cuba, endurance athlete Diana Nyad will make yet one more attempt–one she says will be her last.

Cuba-to-Fla. Swimmer Plows On After Storm, Jellyfish Stings

Long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad continues to plow through through stormy seas Monday, trying one more time to complete the marathon journey from Cuba to Florida. She wants to arrive in the Florida Keys before her 63rd birthday on Wednesday.

Endurance swimmer Penny Palfrey muscled past the halfway mark Saturday as she pushed through the Florida Straits, enduring jellyfish stings but otherwise encountering perfect conditions in her attempt to become the first woman to swim unassisted more than 100 miles from Cuba to the Florida Keys.
