The two open spots on the Broward School Board were filled late Friday afternoon by Florida Governor Rick Scott, who named former Broward Katherine Leach and real estate agent Donna Korn to fill the vacancies left by the resignation of Jennifer Gottlieb and Dave Thomas.
Forty-four applicants applied for the job to become Broward County’s next schools superintendent. The Broward School Board said they hope to have a decision on the superintendent’s position by the end of September.
With the start of the new school year less than a week away, a slimmed down Broward School Board is continuing its search for a new Superintendent.
The Broward School Board is set to name an interim superintendent to replace outgoing superintendent Jim Notter when he leaves the job on June 30.
