This is the most productive month of Kelly Johnson’s career, and Monday was the most productive day. Johnson became the first player in Tampa Bay history to hit two three-run homers in the same game, and the Rays needed them in a 10-6 victory against the Miami Marlins.

Marlins Bats Asleep, Lose To Rays 5-1

The game dragged on for nearly 4 hours as five Tampa Bay pitchers combined to throw 185 pitches, yet they allowed only one run. But it was a win. Tampa Bay wiggled out of several jams Friday night to beat the slumping Miami Marlins 5-1.
