Good news for boaters in South Florida. Biscayne National Park’s Elliot Key reopened Thursday, after being closed for nearly 18 months.
In October 2012, high tides from Hurricane Sandy heavily damaged the docks Elliot Key, separating them from the seawall.
At the time, National Park Service decided to close the island to visitors and do some serious repairs.
State officials said they will no use state money to reopen national parks in the Sunshine State.
