The crisis of children crossing the border without their parents and filling up shelters in Miami-Dade county is becoming an impending issue in Florida’s public school system.

The grieving father of a 16-year-old old boy who is shot and killed while riding his bicycle is riding his appeal for the public’s help because he says police need help with this troubling case and because he is trying to raise money for a reward.
More and more Florida high school students are making the grade. The state’s Department of Education released figures Monday which showed that the graduation rate increased to 80 percent in the 2010-11 school year.
