Commission OK’s Pedestrian Bridge To Span U.S. 1 At UM

University of Miami students are going to be able to go out for pizza – without risking their lives. Miami-Dade commissioners Tuesday greenlighted a plan to build a pedestrian walkway over a piece of South Dixie highway, where over the years eight UM students have been injured or killed trying to cross the street.

Miami-Dade Commission Defers Vote On Pet Trust

Miami-Dade commissioners have put off voting on a popular initiative to reduce the county’s animal overpopulation. The commission was scheduled to vote on a so-called Pet Trust on Tuesday but during their meeting deferred the item until June 18th.
