A Miami man was sentenced to death Wednesday for the murder of a waitress at a popular South Florida restaurant.
A jury deliberated approximately two and a half hours before finding Michel Escoto guilty of first degree murder for the 2002 death of his wife Wendy Trapaga.
Standing before a Miami-Dade jury Assistant State Attorney Gail Levine pointed to Michel Escoto Monday and declared, “This defendant is guilty of murder in the first degree.”
