Wasserman Schultz Leads Tearful Farewell To Gabby Giffords

Flanked by her best friend, South Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Representative Gabrielle Giffords left Congress Wednesday morning just more than a year after she was shot in the head during a campaign rally in her home state of Arizona.

Rep. Wasserman Schultz: We’ll Miss Giffords Spirit

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords announced on Sunday that she would leave Congress this week to focus on her recovery. After attending a rally in Ft. Lauderdale on Sunday which celebrated the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Gifford’s friend and colleague, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, issued a statement saying Giffords has been an inspiration.
