Bondi Responds To Decision Ruling Death Penalty Unconstitutional

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi’s office has finally responded to last week’s federal court decision that Florida’s death penalty is unconstitutional. Bondi’s office said the decision was erroneously applied and questioned the federal courts right to interpret Florida law.

A South Florida federal judge has ruled that based on the current sentencing statute, Florida’s death penalty is unconstitutional. The decision came in ruling in a 20-year-old murder case from Indian River County on Florida’s Treasure Coast.
