Federal Government Shutdown
Starbucks is hoping actions speak louder than words and the politicians in Washington take notice.
The partial federal government shutdown had a ripple effect across South Florida on Tuesday. Employees at some federal services spent the morning closing up shop and hastily recording messages on answering systems that their offices were not open due to the shutdown.
Senator Marco Rubio would prefer to let the federal government shutdown in late March than let a continuing resolution pass if the bill doesn’t completely defund the Affordable Care Act.
As the final hours tick down to keep the government funded, President Barack Obama has started the process of shutting down the federal government. But, many parts of the government that impact Floridians will likely keep running.
