Priest Pleads No Contest In Underage Sex Abuse Case

Looking frail and seated before a judge, retired South Florida priest Neil Doherty pleaded no contest to six counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child.

Key West Church Named Minor Basilica By Vatican

Archbishop Thomas Wenski returned to South Florida from Cuba Saturday afternoon. The Catholic church seems to be mending the heart of the Cuban government on its previously tough stance against the religion, he said.

Archbishop Thomas Wenski plans to return to South Florida from Cuba on Saturday. The ceremonies taking place in Cuba come ahead of Pope Benedict XVI’s visit the last week of March.

The Roman Catholic Church announced Monday that Pope Benedict XVI will visit Cuba this spring. The visit would coincide with the celebration the 400th anniversary of the discovery of the image of the Virgin of Charity, Cuba’s patron saint.



Suit: Nun Fondled 1st Grader

A lawsuit has been filed against the Archdiocese of Miami on behalf of a man who said a nun molested him at St. James Catholic School in North Miami in the 1970s.
