Marlins Try To Trounce Phillies Again Saturday

A day after being eliminated from postseason contention, the slumping Phillies face a Miami Marlins team on Saturday night that has been out of the playoff picture for weeks.

Marlins Top Dodgers 7-3

Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen wasn’t sure how Ricky Nolasco pulled off this win. Nolasco overcame nine hits in five innings as he snapped a five-game losing streak by allowing just two runs in a 7-3 win for the Miami Marlins over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday night.

Carlos Lee Grand Slam Lifts Marlins Over Cubs 9-5

Marlins Shutout Brewers 4-0

It didn’t take long for newly acquired first baseman Carlos Lee to make an impact for the Miami Marlins. Lee doubled and scored in his Marlins debut. Starting pitcher Mark Buehrle struck out eight over 7.2 innings as the Marlins beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-0 Thursday to split the four-game series.
