Sanford Commission Rejects Police Chief’s Resignation

In an odd turn of events, the city commission which gave a no-confidence vote to police chief Bill Lee following the investigation into the death of Trayvon Martin refused to accept his resignation Monday afternoon at a sp0ecial commission meeting, with come commissioners saying they felt the chief was being railroaded out of office.

Trayvon Death Case “Botched”, Says Former Miami-Dade Top Cop

The former boss of Florida’s largest police department said he believes the Sanford Police Department’s handling of the shooting death of Trayvon Martin was “a rushed haphazard, or botched, or backwards investigation,” either intentionally or because of a lack of training.

More Rallies On Tap To Demand Justice In Trayvon Martin Murder

Students, community leaders and activists will stage several marches and rallies Wednesday to demand justice in the shooting of Trayvon Martin. The 17-year old was gunned down February 26th while walking a gated Sanford community by self-appointed Neighborhood Watch captain George Zimmerman who claimed he shot the teen in self-defense.

Man Arrested For Death Threats Against Sanford Chief

A Melbourne Beach man was arrested Friday after he sent a profanity charged e-mail threatening the Sanford police chief who, until this week, had been overseeing the investigation into the shooting death of an unarmed black teen by a neighborhood watch captain.
