2013 Hurricane Season A Dud Thus Far

The predictions for the 2013 Atlantic hurricane season carried words like “extremely active” and “above-average.” But with Tuesday the peak of hurricane season, thus far, the season has luckily for South Florida been a dud.

NOAA Predicting Possibly “Extremely Active Hurricane Season”

While South Florida has been able to avoid much of the hurricane activity in the last few years, it may be more difficult this year if NOAA’s outlook for the 2013 Atlantic Hurricane Season comes to fruition.

Hurricane Center Shrinks Forecast Cone For Fifth Year

Good news: the National Hurricane Center’s (NHC) cone of error has shrunk again. Why is that good news? It means the center’s tropical forecasts are getting more accurate.
