Soon, City of Miami firefighters arrived on scene. (CBS4)

They were quick to roll out their hoses and begin dousing the flames (CBS4)

Up the stairwell they went, with water hoses pointed intensely through the window. (CBS4)

It didn't take long for firefighters to gain control of the fire. (CBS4)

But they still had to get inside so one firefighter carefully checked the door before opening it. (CBS4)

Slowly he opened it as other firefighters doused the flames on the other side of the door. (CBS4)

The white smoke billowing from the building means firefighters are getting the upper hand. (CBS4)

But then a small problem, the intense flames leapt over to an open window of a neighboring building and began to smolder on the window sill. (CBS4)

Firefighters attacking the much larger fire were seemingly unaware the flames had spread to the neighboring building. (CBS4)

Once alerted to the situation, firefighters inside the burning building turned their attention to the smaller building and trained their hoses at the window sill. (CBS4)
