Doug PlagensDoug Plagens arrived in South Florida in 2015 as the radio voice of the Florida Panthers on WQAM and the Panthers Radio Network.

Plagens spent four seasons in Cleveland as the radio and television play-by-play broadcaster for the AHL’s Lake Erie Monsters and AFL’s Cleveland Gladiators.

Prior to his stint in Cleveland, Plagens worked in Boise, ID as the radio and television play-by-play voice of the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads. He was recognized as the ECHL’s “Broadcaster of the Year” for the 2009-2010 season and was selected as part of the national television broadcast of the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game.

Plagens’ broadcasting experience also includes time as a television sports anchor and reporter at WKBN (CBS), WYFX (FOX), and WYTV (ABC) in Youngstown, Ohio.

Plagens holds a Master’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Lake Forest (IL) College.
