david dwork 600x450 David DworkDavid Dwork joined the CBS4 News team in 2014 after working in sports radio for seven years as a host, producer and reporter. He also freelanced as a sportswriter for several different outlets during that time.

Born and raised in North Miami Beach, David has been a sports nut his entire life. Destined to be a Miami Dolphins fan, he was born on the same day that the Dolphins played in Super Bowl XVII.

David has been involved in journalism since grade school, doing the daily TV news from grade four through twelve. He attended Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School and was part of their magnet program for Television Production.

Following high school, David pursued his childhood dream of becoming a professional hockey goalie and began his career playing Junior A hockey in Jackson, Michigan for the Jackson Prowlers in the Continental Elite Hockey League. He also played for the Exeter Seawolves in Exeter, New Hampshire (Interstate Junior Hockey League) and for the South Jersey Scarlet Raptors in Pennsauken, New Jersey (Continental Hockey Association).

In 2007 David began his professional career as an intern for the Miami Heat, working with the Sun Sports television crew on game broadcasts. After that he began interning at WAXY 790 “The Ticket” and was hired as a show producer and field reporter.

Following four years at WAXY, David moved across the street to 560 WQAM to produce their 10am-1pm time slot. He became the executive producer of the University of Miami Hurricanes football broadcasts while continuing to cover games and practices for all local sports teams, including the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat and Florida Panthers.

When he isn’t providing content for CBSMiami.com, David and his wife, Jaime work with several South Florida charities and enjoy going to the beach, the movies and looking for fun new restaurants around town. David also still plays ice hockey and enjoys a good poker game with friends.

In September of 2016 David and Jaime welcomed their first child, Tyler, into the world.
