I live in Wynwood at 161 NW 35th street. I moved here 3 weeks ago. I here music thru the concrete walls from 8 oclck at night to 6 & 7 in the morning every night of the week. coming from a club on NW36th Street. It goes on even on school nights. The block has several children in the neihborhood that live here. I've called the police 3 nights this week and asked how does this go on in a residential neighborhood. There is a nuicance law and it still goes on!!!!!!1 What can be done about this??????/ & 1st Avenue

there is a club operating on NW 36th Street and 1 st Avenue. On my block one there are at least 30 school age children. The club music can be heard through my concrete walls 3 blocks away. this goes on EVERY night of the week- yes school nights too! from 7 -8 pm all through to 6 & 7 am. I’ve called police- 3 times this week to stop the loud intrusive noise. I don’t understand how this is allowed to happen with the nuisance law in effect. If i hear it through concrete walls 3 blocks away- it is definitely above the bothersome decibels. How is this allowed to happen night after night? Why can’t police enforce the law? How are they allowed to operate in our neighborhood? who gave them the permit to use outdoor speakers so close to families with children? Why would hey disturb so many of our peace and take our tax money to live here? What can we do about this to stop it? Today a Halloween thing was going on – on Miami avenue and NE 33rd street. It started this morning around 10 a.m. We heard all the way too NE 36th Street and Biscayne Blvd- stretching south to NE 11th Street & Biscayne Blvd. Why should the residents have to put up with boom boom boom all day. is it too hell with the people for a dollar????

  1. 35th and 1st ave?????? Didn’t you know there was a club there? It’s like South Beach when Amnesia opened. No problems, just a bunch of warehouses and the club bothered no one. Then the condos were built……and the people were outraged! Get a grip and check out a place before you buy or rent! Enjoy the music and in no time you will sleep through it and wake up charged.

Man I agree. I am not u.s. born but I am u.s. raised and educated. I chose this wonderful country of ours and it rewarded me and my family by granting us the PRIVILEGE of becoming its citizens.
    .
Let’s be grateful for this gift by being better people instead of an embarrassment. Until we all do this, the stigma on 3rd world and ANY other world transplants will remain thus.

Btw, thank you Melinda. Best answer thus far. We forget code enforcement has a lot of power, unfortunately CE isn’t available 24/7 to respond as is the Police Depatment. So let’s call Code and let’s continue calling police and let’s not forget City Hall.

I am definitely know what you’re going through. I have been envolving the police about a similar situation in my neighborhood in Hialeah. Yeah I know… Sometimes the cops have to show up more than once on the problem because as soon as they leave the gorillas next door are at it again! Shouldn’t the ,policE fine these people for a) continually violating a nuances law, b) having to come by more than once said occasion d) disregarding their authority and the right to peace and enjoyment. Of course they should. It would get the message across and revenues aren’t a bad thing either … good lucK to us law abiding citizens.

  6. You should move somewhere that is pleasant to you. You must be a Liberal Democrat. The typical lack of responsibility and life skills that lead to such pathetic dependency can only come from a brain marinated in Liberal propaganda. Why do Libs think if they whine long enough the governmant will solve their problems ? How about this solution Libby … Money and Muscles …YES it is that simple .. If you get off your ass and attempt to acquire Money and muscles you will be busy all day long being productive and challenging yourself to produce actual RESULTS for yourself. You will have to learn to be disciplined.. look it up .. and creative, especially trying to earn cash in this statist depressed economy.

you need to apply for one of the Eric Holder “Fast and Furious Program” AK-47s. Then just get a lot of bullets and go tell your story to the noisemakers in a manner that they will understand perfectly.

  8. did not see any reference to race in article but the answer is plain and simple you just moved in so MOVE OUT

  12. Call Code Compliance at 305-673-7000, they are bound by administrative code to respond, and if they deem it to be a nuisance then they have to give the offending party a warning if called again within a certain time frame the offending party will receive a $1000 fine and it goes on. Your calls can be kept confidential.

Well, I agree that citizens need to defend their rights. Quality of life in ANY neighborhood is dependant on that. Why is it that we don’t here of complaints like this in say..Coral Gables? It is all in how much we care and demand that of our elected officials and the Law Enforcement Agencies.

Been in Wynwood 10 blocks away, for a 5 years, thats a load of crap.Regardless of your nationality all citizens should feel comfortable not a select few, or a certain nationality because we are not communists. This is America and luckily we have laws that protect the Rights of People who live here. If you feel comfortable in a third world country, then America may not be the place for you. Where you came from may have not cared about those who live around them or if thier children can get up for school, and graduate, or if those that don’t party can get up for work to pay there rent, or if homelessness is the next best party, but education and the future of your children should be more important than the party.Welcome to the land of the free.
My guess is you are not a parent or a homeowner. Property values go down and houses go into foreclosure, especially when renters WON’T stay and move to a quieter part of town,or maybe you are a developer who wants that to happen so you could buy up the property and build a high rise, or add to the mall, or are a club owner who only cares about the dollar he brings in, on the backs of the citizens.
I won’t mention the accidents from the drunks, or not being able to park by your house, or groups of people drunk in front of your house at 2 a.m. on a school night, talking like it was noontime outside your bedroom windows.
So what your saying is the partyer has more rights than the residents?
