If i bought a house with a money I inherited from my family, and I am married and my husband did not put any money at all towards that purchase, does it belong to him also? What in case of divorce?
did you purchase it BEFORE you married him or while you’re married to him? If you purchased it before, and yourname is the only one on the deed, then it’s yours. If you purchased while married – even if his name isn’t on it – he could claim it’s partially his. Especially if he was helping to pay the mortgage while you were married (unless you bought the house outright, no mortgage).
