Why Miami-Dade County is paying $10 millions renting spaces for the Permitting and Inspection Center, 11805 SW 26 St when having vacant spaces at county owned facilities?
The shopping center is owned by one of the Alex Penelas’ uncles. Why is this had not being investigated?

Have you ever thought about the cost of moving, or the impact of having the building department in a park. There is no suitable building, so one would have to be built. It would also take away from the recreational space, which consists of ball diamonds, tennis courts, and a pool. It may make sense to look for something else, but I remember when you had to go to the South Dade Government center or (shudder) to the Clark building. What a nightmare.
I know the cost/benefit analisys, but what about the planning and foreseen spending tax payer dollars? If we are going to maximize our money, I do strongly believe to divide BNC facitily into two, north and south. Regarding moving and cost impact, on the long run, it would be shaper to keep a white elephant eating tax payer money.
Convenient space with lots of parking was not available when the center opened and leases were signed.
Half a mile to east of this shopping center, Tamiami Park (owner by the county) has plenty parking and vacant spaces. The leases were renewed in 2008 when the financial crisis hit. I understand that when the building industry boom, the department needed a lot of convenience parking. Now, please, visit the building and see how many costumers are in the building daily.
