There is a “bad cholesterol” called LDL (low density lipoprotein) which is the one that accumulates in the arteries narrowing them down and making them rigid, increasing the chances or heart attacks or strokes. Then there is the “good cholesterol” HDL (high density lipoprotein) which kind of “cleans” the arteries taking away the bad one. This is the type we find in foods such as nuts, olive oil, avocados, etc.
It’s all good. However, in some people certain types of cholesterol can build up in the bloodstream and lead to heart attacks and strokes. Some people consider this a bad thing but I believe it depends on the person. We all die sometime from something, but crooks, politicians and such tend to want to live a long time and call that type of cholesterol “bad cholesterol”. The rest of us think of it as good cholesterol. It’s a matter of perspective and what you want to take yourself out.
