Cant we get the Red Light Traffic camera injustice put on a ballot????
Why cant we as taxpayers get the right to VOTE on the Red light traffic lights??? Corruption?? What would it take to get this topic put on the ballot??? This is totally wrong. Granted running a redlight is dangerous, but to fine someone without evening being able to fight this or have to PAY to fight this is even more unconstitutional…. Why cant the traffic lights have the timers in the cross walk lights? That way you iknow how much time you have to get through. Damn…
Sounds like the same public who wants less government complained and a bureaucrat felt empowered to solve the problem and indirectly helped his immigrant brother in law to make money.
There are 3 mayor co’s installing these cameras, they are for profit co’s. They will install, monitor and mantain. under the contract with the municipality they get 65% of the money charged to the violator.
There are some who claim that the issue of Imminent Domain applies here. Where the city has taken public property and granted corporate use for private profit.
Just follow the money Glen. Politicians, lobbyists, and the good old boy network are there to suck the lifeblood out of the citizens that just are not as well connected as the rest. Why allow you to vote no and destroy there chance to get some benefit either directly or indirectly while sucking out both our tax dollars and “fines” for their collective self profit. We have legalized tyranny with a facade that that politicians and bureaucrats at the top are doing what is best for the little folk.
