According to movie gossip site Think McFly Think, Lionsgate film studio wants the Twilight actor for the role of Finnick Odair in the “Hunger Games” sequel “Catching Fire.”

One might think that Pattinson wouldn’t want to attach himself to another super popular movie franchise but “Catching Fire” will be directed by Francis Lawrence, who worked with the star on “Water For Elephants.”

Lionsgate has refused to comment about the casting rumors.

Finnick, who first appears in “Catching Fire,” plays a key role in Suzanne Collins’ best-selling “Hunger Games” trilogy. From District 4, he was the winner of the 65th annual Hunger Games and forms a friendly relationship with Katniss Everdeen following her victory at the 74th iteration of the Games.

Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, “Catching Fire” will arrive in theaters on Nov. 22, 2013. The film will begin shooting this summer.

“The Hunger Games” will be available on DVD, Blu-ray, On Demand and Digital Download on August 18th, according to Lionsgate.

Next week he is set to make his premiere as a TV judge on the Nuvo TV.  He is also debuting on a nightly series on Nick at Night this summer and shopping a script at Cannes for a new indie film.

“I’m thinking of changing my name to Carlos Seacrest because I’m all over the place. This summer I’m really happy to be working,” Ponce said.

Splitting his time between his homes in Miami and Los Angeles, Monday night Ponce makes his debut as one of three judges on “Model Latina.” The show searches for the newest Latina supermodel here in South Florida.

Ponce said for him, judging is actually quite challenging.

“It is actually at some point when you have to be very honest and when you have to use constructive criticism. For any man or any gentleman to have to say there’s a flaw or something not right, that’s not very comfortable,” said Ponce.

“Is there a difference between American models and hot Latina models,” asked CBS4’s Lisa Petrillo.

“You know I’m biased. I’m Cuba Rican and I love ‘the shape’,” said Ponce.

Then on Nick at Night in Hollywood Heights, Ponce goes back to his roots where he’s working on a telenovela in English.

“I’m playing Poppa Max, an 80′s rocks star whose son is bigger than Bieber and dances like William Levy, it’s awesome,” Ponce said.

“Speaking of William Levy, you and I should do a dance show,” said Petrillo.

“I don’t want to embarrass him. He’s doing so great right now. I don’t want to come out with all the moves with you. It will be too sensual and steamy,” said Ponce.

As they sat poolside at the Shelborne South Beach, Petrillo asked Ponce with so much going on – what would be his perfect day.

“My best day is hanging out with my 4 little angels. That’s by far my perfect day,” said Ponce.

Justin Bieber has announced details about this new tour that will bring him to Miami in January.

His “Believe” Tour will begin September 29^th in Glendale, Arizona and wind its way through more than 45 cities before wrapping up at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami on January 26^th.

One dollar from each ticket will be donated to Pencils of Promise, a charity which works to build schools and increase educational opportunities in the developing world. The goal is to build 15 schools around the world for needy children. Details at www.pencilsofpromise.com.

In Astonishing X-Men #50, Jean-Paul Beaubier – known as the mutant superhero Northstar – proposes to his boyfriend Kyle Jinadu.

Northstar is the only openly gay superhero in American comics.

The issue of the comic book is on sale Wednesday.

Marvel’s Editor in Chief says the brand strives to make its characters relationships and stories grounded in reality.

The wedding issue comes out June 20th.

Some comic book retailers will host wedding parties at their stores to mark the event.

Her real husband and her two television husbands were on hand for the event. She starred with Ray Romano in “Everybody Loves Raymond” and currently stars with Neil Flynn from “The Middle.”

She received the 2,472nd star, one day before the season finale of her sitcom “The Middle.”

Her real husband is actor David Hunt. Hunt and the four sons, looked on proudly as she accepted the accolade.

No, this was not their high school averages. These numbers are their Klout scores; the newest way to measure people and their influence online. Klout is a San Francisco based company which looks at people’s Facebook, Twitter and other social media accounts to see who is influencing whom.

“Klout measures the standard of influence. What Klout does is analyze the engagement across social networks to help people understand and benefit from their influence,” said Klout’s Lyn Fox.

“It’s your ranking. It’s like being the popular kid in school” said Nick D’Annunzio of Tara Ink Public Relations. “It’s amazing the way that brands are associating Klout with where you stand in society as they look at your overall Klout score to see if they are going to market you.”

Which could translate into private party invites, hotel room upgrades or free bottles of the hottest brand of scotch. If you’ve got the scores, you’ve got the influence and the clout – or would that be Klout.

Tara Solomon and her partner D’Annunzio run “Tara Ink,” a high profile public relations firm which represents ‘big name’ clients.

On the day CBS4’s Lisa Petrillo visited, the firm was handling the opening part of the all new “Ocean House” residences – South Beach’s newest high end condo.

”Will you in the future and do you now use Klout scores for invites to these events,” asked Petrillo.

“Klout scores are a great qualifier and I think the more we’re into social media we can use it as a way to discern and invite the right people,” said Solomon.

The hope is that the right people will ‘engage’ which means post to Facebook or Tweet about an event or product therefore influencing others.

Believe it or not, South Floridians Klout scores are higher than average.

“The average Klout score is 20,” according to Fox. “The average in Miami is 36. That’s good. People in their 50s are in the 90th percentile.”

As you would imagine, celebs and politicians have very high Klout scores; President Barack Obama has a 94, Mitt Romney an 84. But ordinary folks can also achieve a high scores, but they’ll have to work on it.

“It’s a full time job,” said D’Annunzio.

“The sky is the limit. The most important thing to do is keep engaging,” said Solomon.

Cleanup crews used massive dehumidifiers Monday to help dry out the wetness that infiltrated the lobby, walkways, staircases and bathrooms.

The second half of Sunday night’s show had just started when suddenly the house lights came on and staffers told the crowd they had to evacuate due to water coming into the building.

Staff members guided more than 2,000 people out of the building through side doors and not the main lobby where the floor was flooded.

On Monday, John Richard, president of the Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, blamed a faulty pipe from the roof’s drainage system, saying that night’s downpour caused the rupture inside the Ziff Ballet Opera House.

Richard said the failure came from an elbow joint connecting two sections of 12-inch steel pipe above a top-level bathroom. The pipe carries rainwater from the roof drainage system to the sewer below, and Richard said it was designed to handle more water than Sunday night’s downpour created. The joint itself “wasn’t secured, and it came apart,” he said.

The original joint has been there since the $470 million center opened in 2006, Richard said, and he could not explain why it failed Sunday night and not during earlier downpours. “It should have functioned correctly,’’ he said. “It didn’t.”

Richard said he couldn’t provide an estimate of the damage, but it was extensive enough that some elevators and bathrooms will be out of service for at least a week.

Anyone affected by the evacuation can either get a refund or replacement ticket for a future Lion King show. The musical is in town until June 10th.

Scott Shiller, Executive Vice President of Operations for the Adrienne Arsht Center, said flash flooding caused a drain line to leak and the lobby and other areas of the center to flood with water.

Crews have brought in massive dehumidifiers to dry out of the remaining wetness left over from the flooding that began during Sunday night’s performance.

“The top floor you see some of the water coming inside of the atrium itself,” said Richard Trujillo, who attended the show with his wife.

The second half of the show had just started when suddenly the house lights came on and staffers told the crowd they had to evacuate due to water coming into the building.

“I think about five minutes later is when we had got the alarms and that’s when they stopped the show and they informed us that there was a big storm going outside and that the lobby had flooded,” explained Trujillo.

Staff members guided more than 2,000 people out of the building through side doors and not the main lobby where the floor was flooded.

“The rug has to be ruined, it has to be, cause it was soaked to the core with water,” said audience member Gaby Lopez. “The floor was soaked with water, just rain drops coming down like streams of water coming through the light fixtures. It was actually kinda scary to see that.”

Patrons said the evacuation was orderly and courteous.

Lopez said it took her an hour and a half to get out during the evacuation.

“This building is less than like 6 or 7 years old and it’s leaking puddles of water…I was in shock, complete shock,” Lopez said.

Most left disappointed they didn’t get to see the entire show.

“I just feel sad that we were unable to see the whole show but hopefully we will be coming back and see the whole thing,” said Grace Castillo, an audience member.

As the last few people trickled out of the Sanford and Dolores Ziff Ballet Opera House at Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 13th Street, buckets dotted the lobby’s floor and water dripped from light fixtures.

Gibb, who put his stunning 10,000 square-foot Miami mansion up for sale in 2011 for $4.2 million, created disco dance floor classics like “Stayin’ Alive,” “Jive Talkin’,” and “Night Fever,” with his brothers Maurice and Barry. They called themselves the Bee Gees, short for Brothers Gibb.

Robin Gibb, historically the group’s front-man, also owned four nearly adjacent lots on North Bay road in Miami Beach and was a diehard Miami Heat fan who rarely missed a game when he was in town.

Gibb was the second disco-era star to die this week. Donna Summer — who earned the Queen of Disco title by singing “Last Dance” and “I Feel Love” — died of cancer in Florida on Thursday.

The Bee Gees, born in England but raised in Australia, began their career in the musically rich 1960s but it was their soundtrack for the 1977 movie “Saturday Night Fever” that sealed their success. The album’s signature sound — some called it “blue-eyed soul” — remains instantly recognizable more than 40 years after its release.

The album remains a turning point in popular music history, ending the hard rock era and ushering in a time when dance music ruled supreme. It became one of the fastest-selling albums of all time with its innovative fusion of harmony and pulsing beats. The movie launched the career of a young John Travolta whose snake-hipped moves to the sounds of “You Should Be Dancing” established his reputation as a dancer and forever linked his image to that of the Bee Gees.

Recording Academy president Neil Portnow predicted that fans will dance to “Stayin’ Alive” and other songs Bee Gees songs for generations to come.

“Robin has had an indelible impact on music,” he said.

Despite financial success, Robin Gibb and his brothers endured repeated tragedies. Maurice died suddenly of intestinal and cardiac problems in 200 in Miami Beach. Their younger brother Andy Gibb, who also enjoyed considerable chart success as a solo artist, had died in 1988 just after turning 30. He suffered from an inflamed heart muscle attributed to a severe viral infection.

Robin Gibb himself took care of his health and, at the time of his death, was a vegan who did not drink alcohol.

Gibb was for decades a familiar figure on the pop stage, starting out in the 1960s when the Bee Gees were seen as talented Beatles copycats. They sounded so much like the Beatles at first that there were strong rumors that the Bee Gees’ singles were really the Beatles performing under another name.

Many late-’60s bands were quickly forgotten, but the Bee Gees transformed themselves into an enduring A-List powerhouse with the almost unbelievable, and certainly unexpected, success of the song “Stayin’ Alive” and others from the “Saturday Night Fever” soundtrack that accompanied the movie.

With this second wind, the Bee Gees sold more than 200 million records and had a long string of successful singles, making their way into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

“Saturday Night Fever” — actually a compilation album featuring the Bee Gees but including songs by other performers — represented the pinnacle of Gibb’s career, but he enjoyed more than 40 years of prominence as a Bee Gee, as a solo artist, and as a songwriter and producer for other artists.

The Bee Gees consisted of Barry Gibb, the eldest, and twins Robin Gibb and Maurice Gibb. Their three-part harmonies became their musical signature, particularly in the disco phase, when Barry’s matchless falsetto often dominated, and they were renowned for their wide-ranging songwriting and producing skills.

The Gibbs were born in England on the Isle of Man, an island in the Irish Sea, but moved to Australia with their parents in 1958 when they were still quite young and began their musical career there. They had been born into a musical family, with a father who was a drummer and bandleader and a mother who liked to sing.

After several hits in Australia, their career started to really take off when they returned to England in 1967 and linked up with promoter Robert Stigwood.

After several hits and successful albums, Robin Gibb left the group in 1969 after a series of disagreements, some focusing on whether he or Barry should be lead vocalist. He released some successful solo material — most notably “Saved by the Bell” — before rejoining his brothers in 1970 and scoring a major hit with “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart.”

The Gibbs then suffered some slack years — searching for a style that could sustain them in the post-Beatles era — and Barry Gibb started experimenting with falsetto vocals, first on backup, and then in the lead position.

The brothers were at a low point when they went into a French studio to try to come up with some songs for the “Saturday Night Fever” soundtrack at the urging of Stigwood.

The success of those tunes — closely linked to the popularity of the movie, and the power of the disco movement — changed their lives forever, giving them a string of number one hits.

After several years of chart success, the Gibbs spent much of the 1980s writing songs and producing records for other artists, working closely with top talents such as Barbra Streisand, Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross and Dolly Parton. They also continued touring and releasing their own records.

Gibb also released more solo albums, including “Secret Agent,” during this period.

The band continued in the 1990s, gaining recognition for their body of work with induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Then came Maurice’s sudden death in 2003. The surviving brothers announced that the name Bee Gees would be retired with Maurice Gibb’s death, although Robin and Barry did collaborate on projects and Robin Gibb continued his solo career and extensive touring despite mounting health problems.

He had to cancel several engagements in 2011, including one with British Prime Minister David Cameron, and he showed an alarming weight loss on his rare public appearances. He was hospitalized briefly in 2011 with what doctors said was an inflamed colon and had surgery for intestinal problems in March, 2012.

One of his final projects was “The Titanic Requiem,” a classical work he co-wrote with his son RJ, that the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra premiered in April to mark the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.

Robin Gibb remained emotionally attached to the Isle of Man, keeping a house there as well as homes in rural Oxfordshire, England, and Miami.

He also became involved with numerous charities and worked to establish a permanent memorial to the veterans of Britain’s World War II Bomber Command and recorded songs honoring British veterans.

Gibb is survived by his second wife, Dwina, and four children, as well as his mother Barbara, his older brother, fellow Bee Gee Barry Gibb, and his sister Lesley Evans, who lives in Australia.

With $55.1 million domestically, Disney’s superhero sensation remained No. 1 for a third-straight weekend and took in more than the three big newcomers combined. Overseas, “The Avengers” added an additional $56 million.

The film is approaching the $1.2 billion mark worldwide, totaling $457.1 million domestically and $723.3 million internationally.

“‘The Avengers’ is dominating the marketplace so profoundly that the newcomers are having a tough time breaking in now,” said Paul Dergarabedian, analyst for box-office tracker Hollywood.com.

Universal’s “Battleship” opened a distant No. 2 with $25.4 million domestically, well below industry expectations.

But the board-game adaptation starring Liam Neeson, Taylor Kitsch and Rihanna already has grossed $226.8 million overseas since launching in April, giving it a worldwide total of $252.1 million.

“I would be glad to be No. 2 if we opened to a better number. But given the presence of an absolute juggernaut in the marketplace, there’s nothing you can do,” said Nikki Rocco, head of distribution for Universal. “Not to have a shot at being No. 1 this weekend is disappointing. But it’s a challenge with ‘Avengers’ out there.”

Sacha Baron Cohen’s comedy “The Dictator,” in which he plays a tyrannical third-world leader, debuted in third-place with $17.4 million for the weekend. Since opening Wednesday, the Paramount release has taken in $24.5 million.

“The Dictator” opened with $30.3 million in 29 overseas markets, giving it a worldwide haul of $54.8 million.

Paramount executives said they were happy with that start, but even a movie aiming for laughs had some trouble making in-roads against “The Avengers.”

“This is a full-out comedy, very different than ‘Avengers.’ But when you’ve got a movie that big, it just absolutely sucks up the marketplace,” said Anthony Marcoly, head of international distribution for Paramount. “But it’s also good for the entire business. Hopefully, those that see ‘Avengers’ will go, ‘Hey, I want to see another movie,’ and hopefully, they’ll think of our movie as a next choice.”

Johnny Depp and Tim Burton’s vampire romp “Dark Shadows,” which opened in second-place a week earlier, slipped to No. 4 with $12.8 million. The Warner Bros. release lifted its domestic total to $50.9 million, a weak result compared to the previous Depp-Burton blockbusters “Alice in Wonderland” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”

Lionsgate’s pregnancy comedy “What to Expect When You’re Expecting,” featuring Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez, premiered at No. 5 with $10.5 million.

“The Avengers” and the newcomers were unable to maintain Hollywood’s sizzling start to the summer season. Overall domestic revenues totaled $144 million, down 14 percent from the same weekend last year, when “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” opened with $90.2 million, according to Hollywood.com.

At $1.18 billion worldwide, “The Avengers” climbed to the No. 4 spot on the all-time charts, trailing only “Avatar” ($2.8 billion), “Titanic” ($2.2 billion) and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2″ ($1.3 billion).

Domestically, “The Avengers” at $457.1 million is No. 6 all-time but will quickly pass “Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace” ($474.5 million) and the original “Star Wars” ($460.9 million) to take the No. 4 spot.

“Avatar” is No. 1 domestically at $760.5 million, followed by “Titanic” at $658.5 million and “The Dark Knight” at $533.3 million.

Factoring in today’s higher admission prices, many older movies sold more tickets than “The Avengers,” which also has a price advantage because of the extra few dollars it costs to see the 3-D version.

But the Marvel Comics superhero ensemble has proved an overwhelming lure, drawing in all audience segments and packing in some fans who are seeing it over and over.

“It’s a contagious thing that gets not just them back, but their friends back to see it again,” said Dave Hollis, head of distribution for Disney. “I’m always happy to see a friendly competition among friends to see who can see the movie the most times.”

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Hollywood.com. Where available, latest international numbers are also included. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.

But newly released tapes made in 1998 by Monroe’s personal hairdresser, George Masters, said Marilyn didn’t spend the last night of her life at her home in Southern California.  But in Lake Tahoe at Cal-Neva Resort and Casino.  He said he knew this because he was with her.

Hans Weig is tour director at Cal-Neva. “This is where the rich and elite used to come and this was their private playground.”

From 1960 to 1963 Cal-Neva was the place where the Rat Pack called their ‘home away from home’.  It is located on the borders of Nevada and California.

Cal-Neva offered a taste of Sin City but with the seclusion celebrities craved.  It’s owner was none other than Ol’ Blue Eyes.

Frank Sinatra made sure his Cal-Neva was the perfect hideaway.  The original underground tunnels built in the 20′s can still be seen today.  Rumors were that these tunnels were meant for the transportation of liquor up from the lake, as well to conceal the comings and goings of celebrities, gangsters, and politicians who checked in at the resort.  The original copper mesh still lines the walls of the tunnels likely used to foil wire taps.

Weig said, “Marilyn Monroe used to stay in Cabin #3.  It was known as the girl’s cabin. So if Marilyn did die here, she died in the heart-shaped bed that used to be in here.”

But the mystery seems to be unfolding, in the audio recordings of George Masters, her hairdresser. He not only said that he and Marilyn were at Cal-Neva the night before she was found dead, but that she was seen with mob boss Sam Giancana that same night as well.

Some suspect the mobster gave her the drug dose that killed her, and that she was transported to her southern California home, where she was found the next morning, August 5th, face down, naked and dead…a collection of pills were located on her nightstand.

Gene Margolis is the author of Marilyn Monroe: The Case for Murder, “There were enough drugs in her to kill about three people.  Yet there was absolutely nothing in her stomach, and that is pretty much the strongest evidence of murder, is the fact that there should have been undissolved capsules.”

He doesn’t buy Master’s claims that Monroe was at Cal-Neva the night before her death, but he doesn’t doubt that the Kennedy’s were involved in Monroe’s death.

He validated this and said “The Kennedy’s said they didn’t want to see her anymore.”

Margolis and others have suggested that she was intentionally drugged, injected with barbiturates, and that Bobby Kennedy visited her house before she died.  “Robert Kennedy was present at her house along with two men.  The housekeeper, Mrs. Murray was ordered out of the house along with her son-in-law who was present.”

Margolis further claimed that Monroe’s long-time psychiatrist, Dr. Ralph Greenson, was under pressure from Bobby Kennedy.

“Bobby tricked Greenson into thinking that not only was Marilyn going to reveal the sexual affairs with Jack and Bobby.  But Bobby tricked Greenson into thinking Marilyn was going to go public with her affair with Greenson, which was not true,” stated Margolis.

Monroe’s publicist later ended up working for the Kennedy’s.  And police reports and FBI files on the sex goddess have been mysteriously lost, destroyed, or blacked out.

What we may never know is if Marilyn Monroe spent her final hours at a Rat Pack hangout or at her Brentwood hacienda.  So her death is as riveting a mystery as anything Hollywood has ever created.

Underwood is one of five co-hosts on “The Talk”, which has been nominated for three daytime Emmy Awards. One for Outstanding Talk Show/Entertainment and two others for Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling and Outstanding Achievement in Makeup.

Sheryl told Jawan and Rhiannon she loves her gig at “The Talk” and can’t believe how many amazing things she’s done and all the great people she’s met.

But does she get along with her co-hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, and Aisa Tyler?

Absolutely! She said all of the ladies get along very well and they have as much fun behind the scenes as in front of the camera.

She also said her background with standup comedy has helped her with live TV, although she admitted that Julie Chen did have to help her learn to read the teleprompter.

She also dished a bit on her celebrity crush, “CBS This Morning” co-host Charlie Rose. The ladies of “The View” recently appeared on “CBS This Morning” and described how she embarrassed him in person.

There were few details available. Her family released a statement after her death was reported.

“Early this morning, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith,” said the statement released by the family’s publicist.

“While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy. Words truly can’t express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time.”

TMZ.com, which first reported news of her death, said that she died in Florida. Summer has a beach house near Venice, Florida, which is south of Sarasota. TMZ is also claiming its sources report Summer had lung cancer which she believed was caused by exposure to toxic particles in New York after 9/11.

She performed in South Florida at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood in August of 2010 following a sellout show in 2009.

Born Donna Gaines, the Boston native developed an early interest in music. Summer, known as the Queen of Disco, was a 5-time Grammy winner who shot to superstardom in the ’70s with iconic hits like “Last Dance,” “Hot Stuff” and “Bad Girls.” She continued her dominance in the ’80s with “She Works Hard for the Money” and “This Time I Know It’s for Real.”

Summer holds the record for most consecutive double albums to hit #1 on the Billboard charts (three) and first female to have four #1 singles in a 12- month period; three as a solo artist and one as a duo with Barbra Streisand. She won 6 American Music Awards and 11 gold albums. It is estimated that Donna Summer has sold more than 130 million records worldwide.

The Daily Beast reported that Summer had worked to keep news of her illness out of the media as she tried to work on a new album. Her last CD, Crayons, was released in 2008.

Summer married Brooklyn Dreams singer Bruce Sudano  in 1980. They had two daughters together.

The gift is the largest given to the museum by an artist and is the second largest from an individual, officials said. It will fund the Taylor Swift Education Center, an exhibit and classroom space scheduled to open in 2014.

“In terms of what it will allow us to do, we do education very well now,” museum director Kyle Young said. “It will allow us to do what we do better, serve more people, develop new programs and I’m happy to say that as we talked through this opportunity with Taylor, she very much wants to be involved in an advisory capacity in what we do. Is there a better person out there who’s in touch with a young audience? I think not. I was joking we should be paying her to do that. I was only joking.”

The new education center is part of the museum’s $75 million “Working on a Building” expansion project that will increase the space more than 200,000 square feet to 350,000. The expansion is part of the new convention center project in downtown Nashville and will include a new concert theater, more room for exhibits and archives, and a shared entrance with a new hotel.

Swift’s education center will have its own exterior entrance and is 7,500 square feet-plus spread over two stories. It will include three classrooms and exhibit space and will allow the museum to add to its youth education programs. The new space will house interactive activities such as a musical petting zoo and a “wet” classroom space to make concert posters and other art projects. The expansion also would allow the museum to start new programs and workshops and for teens and senior citizens as well as continuing workshops.

The 22-year-old singer-songwriter is country music’s top-selling artist and current ambassador to the world. The six-time Grammy winner is a two-time winner of both the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music entertainer of the year awards and has taken the genre to Asia, Europe and Australia as well as the top of the U.S. pop charts.

She has a long history with the museum. One of her first public performances was on the building’s plaza. She signed her record contract there. And she has donated her time to the museum’s “All For The Hall” fundraisers.

“For Taylor to want to engage herself in the life of this place in such an appropriate way … every way you slice it and dice it, it’s great for this place,” Young said.

CBS will finish the season as America’s most-watched network for the ninth time in the past 10 years, leading in viewers by the widest margin of any network in 23 years.

The new series include Elementary, a contemporary take on the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes in New York City, starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu; Vegas, a drama inspired by a real-life sheriff and his battle with a powerful mobster for control of Las Vegas in the 1960s, starring Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis; Made In Jersey, starring Janet Montgomery as a smart first-year lawyer with working-class roots practicing at a prestigious Manhattan law firm; and Partners, a comedy about two very different life-long best friends and business partners and their significant others, starring David Krumholtz and Michael Urie.

Murray was arguably one of the first to popularize the teaching of dancing. Whether it’s the Salsa, the Rhumba or the Cha Cha, people are catching on to the dance craze.

CBS4’s Jorge Estevez and Vanessa Borge spent a few hours with an instructor at the studio in Coral Gables and did what they could to impress on the dance floor.

The studio offers classes to the public and has been operating in Coral Gables for 60 years.

The superhero blockbuster took in $103.2 million to lead for a second-straight weekend, raising its domestic total to $373.2 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.

With $95.4 million more overseas, “The Avengers” lifted its international receipts to $628.9 million and a worldwide haul of just over $1 billion, only 19 days after it began rolling out in some markets.

“You never think that it can happen this quickly,” said Dave Hollis, head of distribution for Disney, whose Marvel Studios unit produced the ensemble film after a long buildup in its solo superhero outings. “You hope you can get to this day, and the fact that it is happening this early is a testament to a lot of work that went in on the Marvel side over the last six years to get us to a place where people wanted to see the Avengers assemble.”

“The Avengers” easily fended off Johnny Depp and Tim Burton’s vampire romp “Dark Shadows,” which had a so-so domestic start of $28.8 million to finish a distant No. 2.

That’s far below such past Depp-Burton collaborations as “Alice in Wonderland,” which opened with $116.1 million, and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” which debuted with $56.2 million.

“Dark Shadows” added $36.7 million in 42 overseas markets for a worldwide total of $65.5 million.

“The Avengers” was the first movie ever to pull in more than $100 million domestically in its second weekend, passing the previous best of $75.6 million for “Avatar.” The film also topped $300 million domestically Saturday after just nine days in release, beating the previous record set by “The Dark Knight,” which hit that mark in 10 days.

Already the year’s biggest hit worldwide, “The Avengers” is on the verge of passing “The Hunger Games” at $386.9 million to become the top-grossing film domestically for 2012.

Revenue for “The Avengers” was off just 50 percent from the film’s domestic debut of $207.4 million the previous weekend, a remarkable hold given how big it started.

A round-up of such Marvel idols as Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Captain America (Chris Evans) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth), “The Avengers” has shot past the revenues that its solo superhero predecessors took in for their entire runs. The best of those domestically was “Iron Man” with $318.4 million.

“There has been a surprise around every corner with this picture in terms of how high is high and how big is big,” Disney’s Hollis said.

Inspired by the supernatural soap opera that debuted on TV in the mid-1960s, “Dark Shadows” stars Depp as an 18th century vampire who is freed after two centuries of burial and returns to his ancestral homestead in the 1970s, aiming to rebuild the family fortunes.

The TV show has only a cult following, so the Warner Bros. update relied on the lure of a reunion between frequent collaborators Depp and Burton taking on another otherworldly tale. But “Dark Shadows” left both critics and audiences cold, failing to make much of a dent in the intense appeal of “The Avengers.”

“Certainly, more is better, but it was a busy weekend, especially with ‘Avengers’ doing $100 million in its second weekend,” said Dan Fellman, head of distribution at Warner Bros. “The box office can only expand so much, and that was a hard one to anticipate. Those numbers are staggering.”

Fox Searchlight’s crowd-pleaser “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” broke into the top-10 in its second weekend as it expanded from a handful of cinemas to 178 theaters. The film took in $2.7 million to finish at No. 8.

“The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” features Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Maggie Smith and Tom Wilkinson in a tale of older Brits looking to retire to a cozy life in India.

Also in narrower release of 322 theaters, Eva Mendes’ comic drama “Girl in Progress” opened at No. 10 with $1.4 million. The Lionsgate release stars Mendes as a nomadic single mom with a precocious teenage daughter.

“The Avengers” again provided the bulk of Hollywood’s business. Overall domestic revenues totaled $172 million, up 23 percent from the same weekend last year, when “Thor” led with $34.7 million, according to box-office tracker Hollywood.com.

Domestic receipts for the year are at $3.83 billion, 17.6 percent ahead of last year’s with a huge summer lineup yet to come.

Hollywood.com analyst Paul Dergarabedian said he expects Hollywood to break the summer revenue record of $4.4 billion it set last year and top its all-time annual high of $10.6 billion from 2009.

“I think we will surpass that given the strength of just the first two weeks of the summer and the strength of the films on the way,” Dergarabedian said. “Records are just made to be broken this summer and this year.”

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Hollywood.com. Where available, latest international numbers are also included. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.

CSI Miami, which starred David Caruso, aired more than 200 episodes in its 10-year run.

The series, which is primarily shot in California, is a spin-off of the “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” TV franchise. The original “CSI” and “CSI: NY” are expected to remain on the air.

CBS also axed two midseason series, cop drama NYC 22 and Rob Schneider sitcom Rob.

CBS’s new fall lineup will be official unveiled Wednesday.

Every Friday night on the hit drama Blue Bloods, Gayle plays Nicki Reagan Boyle the granddaughter of Frank Reagan played by Tom Selleck. Bridget Moynihan plays her mom and Donny Wahlberg plays her uncle.

The series portrays a family of police officers who investigate the murder of Joe, the son of Frank Regan, who was killed on the line of duty investigating corrupt cops,

“Tom and Donny and Bridget have mentored me in the most phenomenal of ways. I adore every one of them,” said Gayle. “Bridget is like another other mom to me, Tom is like a father, Donny is like an uncle. They’re all always taking care of me.”

“This is me signing autographs for Gypsy on Broadway when I was 11,” Gayle told CBS4’s Lisa Petrillo as she showed off pictures of herself.

Gayle grew up in Weston and attended Everglades Elementary School. Like her TV family, her real family is tight knit.

Sami moved to New York with her mom where Blue Bloods is filmed. Her dad and siblings come up every almost weekend to see them.

“I think it makes you appreciate family much more because at home everyone is going in and out of the house,” she said. “When we are in our one bedroom apartment together in N.Y.C. everyone is crammed together for 36 hours so you almost get more time.”

In addition to acting Gayle dances and sings, but never lets school take a back seat. The 16-year-old is home schooled and was in South Florida taking her Advance Placement exams.

“School is something really important to me. I make sure that comes first and I make sure to never take myself too seriously and I always have fun,” she said. “I do it because I love it.”

In addition to Blue Bloods you can now catch Gayle on the big screen in two movies. Her new film “Detachment” with Adrian Brody was just released and another “Stolen” with Nicolas Cage is soon to premiere.

Jose Mas, the youngest son of the late respected Cuban-American leader Jorge Mas Canosa, will go undercover at the company his father founded decades ago. Jose, a chip off the old block will ditch his corner office located in Coral Gables to explore the inner workings of MasTec a multinational infrastructure construction company.

Cuban immigrant Jorge Mas Canosa was known for his brave opposition against Fidel Castro and his leadership in the Miami community in the 1980s. Due to his strong sense of family he encouraged his three sons to be involved with the company which led to Jose taking over the throne of MasTec in 1997.

“It was truly an incredible and humbling experience for me to be part of what our outstanding employees do every single day,” said Mas.

SHARK is the new exhibition that opens Saturday May 12^th at the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale along with Nova Southeastern University’s Oceanographic Center.

“I think anybody will connect with this exhibit whether you like sharks or not,” said exhibition curator Richard Ellis.

Ellis is an acclaimed wildlife artist, author, and environmentalist. In this artistic underworld world of sharks, the exhibit teems with more than 70 artists’ perspectives on sharks portrayed as predator, victim and even pop culture icon. In all, there are more than 130 original pieces of work on display.

In addition to drawings of all the known varieties of sharks in the world, the exhibition contains photographs, sculptures, paintings,  and video as well as a section devoted to the sensational impact of the 1975 Steven Spielberg film “Jaws.”

“There’s a shark carved out of automobile hub caps, there’s a shark made out of a golf bag , there’s sharks made out of washing machine parts,” explained Ellis.

The exhibit SHARK curated by artist Richard Ellis has been in the works for two years.

Sharon Zalkin is one of the first to see the exhibition.

“Absolutely incredible and overwhelmingly fabulous,” said Zalkin. “Who knew? It’s really, really special.”

The underwater journey takes you on a journey of the long history of sharks, including the gallery dedicated to the film “Jaws.”  The “Jaws” gallery features original storyboards, illustrations, posters and memorabilia from the film and its sequels.

“Everybody, everywhere thinks about sharks at one time or another. You can’t say that about giraffes or whales or wombats but you can certainly say it about sharks,” said Ellis.

“As you go through the exhibition you’ll find in the end the story of the shark, not so much as the predator anymore but as the prey,” said Irvin Lippman, executive director of the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale.

SHARK also includes well-known marine artists Guy Harvey and Kent Ullberg, as well as noted photographers Chris Fallows, Ron and Valerie Taylor, Daniel Botelho, David Doubilet, and Rodney Fox. There is also a dramatic installation of watercolors of 400 shark species by British wildlife illustrator Marc Dando.

Admission to SHARK includes general admission to the Museum. Adult admission is $10, seniors and military is $7, children ages 6-17 is $5, children 5 and under and Museum members are admitted free.

For a more interactive experience, visitors can download the SHARK mobile integration onto smart phones and tablets. It’s a family-friendly program that offers gaming, shark facts, shark tracking and a family resource guide. It can be downloaded via a mobile bar code or a link on the website www.moafl.org.

The Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale is located  at One East Las Olas Boulevard at the corner of Andrews Avenue in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale.

The SHARK exhibition is open until January 6, 2013.

The 36-year-old comedian has signed on to host the 2012 MTV Movie Awards.

“This MTV Movie Awards will be more impressive than ‘The Avengers,’ and you won’t have to wait an hour for someone to Hulk out,” Brand said Thursday.

After hosting MTV’s Video Music Awards in 2008 and 2009, Brand took on leading roles in films such as “Get Him to the Greek,” ”Arthur” and “Rock of Ages,” which hits theaters next month. This is his first time hosting the MTV Movie Awards.

Executive producer Jesse Ignjatovic, who worked with Brand on the VMAs, calls the actor-comedian “such a brilliant talent.”

“He brings the funny but he also has that rock ‘n’ roll aesthetic,” he said.

The top contenders at the 21st annual MTV Movie Awards are “The Hunger Games” and “Bridesmaids,” which have eight nominations each, including bids for best cast, breakthrough performance and movie of the year. The show also includes offbeat categories such as best kiss, best fight, and best on-screen dirtbag. Fans can select the winners by casting votes online.

Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Mark Wahlberg are among the stars set to appear at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, which will be presented June 3 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif., and broadcast live on MTV.

When he came on the scene in the 1950s, hair was high and heavy — typically curled, teased, piled and shellacked into place. Then came the 1960s, and Sassoon’s creative cuts, which required little styling and fell into place perfectly every time, fit right in with the fledgling women’s liberation movement.

“His timing was perfect: As women’s hair was liberated, so were their lives,” Allure magazine Editor-in-Chief Linda Wells told The Associated Press in a written statement. “Sassoon was one of the original feminists.”

Sassoon was at his home in Los Angeles with his family when he died Wednesday at age 84, police spokesman Kevin Maiberger said. Maiberger said police were summoned to the home but found that Sassoon had died of natural causes, and authorities wouldn’t investigate further.

His exact cause of death was unclear, but publicist Mark Sejvar said Sassoon had leukemia for several years.

“Vidal Sassoon was the most famous hairstylist in the history of the world,” said John Paul DeJoria, a close friend of Sassoon and CEO of John Paul Mitchell Systems, a company he co-founded with the late Paul Mitchell, a Sassoon protege. “Good hairstylists never die. Vidal Sassoon and Paul Mitchell will always live on.”

DeJoria said Sassoon had been scheduled to sit at his table for a fundraiser Monday night but called to cancel, saying “his body was feeling just a little bit too tired and he would be there in spirit.”

Sassoon opened his first salon in his native London in 1954 but said he didn’t perfect his cut-is-everything approach until the mid-’60s. Once the wash-and-wear concept hit, though, it hit big, and many women retired their curlers for good.

His shaped cuts were an integral part of the “look” of Mary Quant, the superstar British fashion designer who popularized the miniskirt.

“My idea was to cut shape into the hair, to use it like fabric and take away everything that was superfluous,” Sassoon said in 1993 in the Los Angeles Times, which first reported his death. “Women were going back to work, they were assuming their own power. They didn’t have time to sit under the dryer anymore.”

His wash-and-wear styles included the bob, the Five-Point cut and the “Greek Goddess,” a short, tousled perm — inspired by the “Afro-marvelous-looking women” he said he saw in New York’s Harlem.

Paul Mitchell’s son Angus Mitchell, co-owner of John Paul Mitchell systems and a prominent hairstylist in his own right, said Sassoon’s simple-but-dynamic system forever changed the business because it could be replicated anywhere.

“Vidal was like Christopher Columbus,” Angus Mitchell, who studied under Sassoon, told the AP in a phone interview Wednesday. “He discovered that the world was round with his cutting system. It was the first language that people could follow.”

Celebrity stylist and Madison Avenue salon owner Oscar Blandi said Sassoon made him fall in love with the hair business and showed him the “true art of styling.”

“He truly changed the world of hair and beauty,” Blandi said in an email. “He was definitely the most innovative person ever to enter the industry. He led the way for the celebrity stylists of today.”

Many of those celebrity stylists were tweeting tributes as word spread.

“My great day turned into a devastating day,” Tabatha Coffey of the Bravo reality TV series “Tabatha Takes Over” said on her Twitter account. “RIP Vidal Sassoon thank you for all you have done for our industry and for me.”

Hairstylist Frederic Fekkai, who has his own chain of salons and collection of namesake products, called Sassoon “an extraordinary man.”

“He was an artist — a talent and a visionary,” Fekkai said. “He paved the way to introduce contemporary hairstyles and made an incredible impact on the fashion and beauty communities. … The world has lost not only an icon but a kind man.”

Sassoon often worked in the 1960s with American designer Rudi Gernreich, who became a household name in 1964 with his much-publicized (but seldom-worn) topless bathing suit.

“While Mr. Gernreich has dressed his mannequins to look like little girls,” The New York Times wrote after viewing Gernreich’s collection for fall 1965, “Vidal Sassoon has cut their hair to look like little boys with eye-level bangs in front, short crop in back. For really big evenings, a pin-on curl is added at the cheek.”

In 1966, he did a curly look inspired by 1920s film star Clara Bow for the designer Ungaro. He got more headlines when he was flown to Hollywood from London, at a reputed cost of $5,000, to create Mia Farrow’s pixie cut for the 1968 film “Rosemary’s Baby.”

Sassoon opened more salons in England and expanded to the United States before also developing a line of shampoos and styling products bearing his name. His advertising slogan was “If you don’t look good, we don’t look good.”

The hairdresser also established Vidal Sassoon Academies to teach aspiring stylists how to envision haircuts based on a client’s bone structure. There are now academies in England, Germany, China, the U.S. and Canada.

“Whether long or short, hair should be carved to a woman’s bone structure,” he told the Los Angeles Times in 1967. “Actually short hair is a state of mind … not a state of age.”

Sassoon’s hair-care mantra: “To sculpt a head of hair with scissors is an art form. It’s in pursuit of art.”

He wrote four books: “Vidal: The Autobiography” released in February of this year; an earlier autobiography, “Sorry I Kept You Waiting, Madam,” published in 1968; “A Year of Beauty and Health,” written with his second wife, Beverly, and published in 1979; and 1984′s “Cutting Hair the Vidal Sassoon Way.

He sold his business interests in the early 1980s to devote himself to philanthropy. The Boys Clubs of America and the Performing Arts Council of the Music Center of Los Angeles were among the causes he supported through his Vidal Sassoon Foundation. He later became active in post-Hurricane Katrina charities in New Orleans.

He had moved to Los Angeles in the early 1970s in search of a chemist to formulate his hair-care products and decided to make the city his home.

A veteran of Israel’s 1948 War of Independence, Sassoon also had a lifelong commitment to eradicating anti-Semitism. In 1982, he established the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Growing up very poor in London, Sassoon said that when he was 14, his mother declared he was to become a hairdresser. After traveling to Palestine and serving in the Israeli war, he returned home to fulfill her dream.

“I thought I’d be a soccer player but my mother said I should be a hairdresser, and, as often happens, the mother got her way,” he told the AP in 2007.

He told the Chicago Tribune in 2004 that he was proud to have entered the field.

“Hairdressers are a wonderful breed,” Sassoon said. “You work one-on-one with another human being and the object is to make them feel so much better and to look at themselves with a twinkle in their eye. Work on their bone structure, the color, the cut, whatever, but when you’ve finished, you have an enormous sense of satisfaction.”

Married four times, Sassoon had four children with his second wife, Beverly, a sometime film and television actress, usually billed as Beverly Adams.

None of the children went into the family business. The eldest, Catya, an actress and model, died in her sleep on New Year’s Day 2002 of an accidental overdose.

Longtime friend and caretaker Lynn Caponera said she was with him when Sendak died at a hospital in Danbury, Conn. She said he had a stroke on Friday.

“Where the Wild Things Are” earned Sendak a prestigious Caldecott Medal for the best children’s book of 1964 and became a hit movie in 2009. President Bill Clinton awarded Sendak a National Medal of the Arts in 1996 for his vast portfolio of work.

Sendak didn’t limit his career to a safe and successful formula of conventional children’s books, though it was the pictures he did for wholesome works such as Ruth Krauss’ “A Hole Is To Dig” and Else Holmelund Minarik’s “Little Bear” that launched his career.

“Where the Wild Things Are,” about a boy named Max who goes on a journey — sometimes a rampage — through his own imagination after he is sent to bed without supper, was quite controversial when it was published, and his quirky and borderline scary illustrations for E.T.A. Hoffmann’s “Nutcracker” did not have the sugar coating featured in other versions.

Sendak also created costumes for ballets and staged operas, including the Czech opera “Brundibar,” which he also put on paper with collaborator Pulitzer-winning playwright Tony Kushner in 2003.

He designed the Pacific Northwest Ballet’s “Nutcracker” production that later became a movie shown on television, and he served as producer of various animated TV series based on his illustrations, including “Seven Little Monsters,” ”George and Martha” and “Little Bear.”

But despite his varied resume, Sendak accepted — and embraced — the label “kiddie-book author.”

“I write books as an old man, but in this country you have to be categorized, and I guess a little boy swimming in the nude in a bowl of milk (as in ‘In the Night Kitchen’) can’t be called an adult book,” he told The Associated Press in 2003.

“So I write books that seem more suitable for children, and that’s OK with me. They are a better audience and tougher critics. Kids tell you what they think, not what they think they should think.”

During that 2003 interview, Sendak also said he felt as if he were part of a dying breed of illustrators who approached their work as craftsmen. “I feel like a dinosaur. There are a few of us left. (We) worked so hard in the ’50s and ’60s but some have died and computers pushed others out.”

Sendak, who did his work in a studio at the Ridgefield, Conn., home he moved into in the early 1960s, never embraced high-tech toys. He did, however, have a collection of Mickey Mouse and other Walt Disney toys displayed throughout the house.

When director Spike Jonez made the movie version of “Where the Wild Things Are,” Sendak said he urged the director to remember his view that childhood isn’t all sweetness and light. And he was happy with the result.

“In plain terms, a child is a complicated creature who can drive you crazy” Sendak told the AP in 2009. “There’s a cruelty to childhood, there’s an anger. And I did not want to reduce Max to the trite image of the good little boy that you find in too many books.”

Sendak’s own life was clouded by the shadow of the Holocaust. He had said that the events of World War II were the root of his raw and honest artistic style.

Born in 1928 and raised in Brooklyn, Sendak said he remembered the tears shed by his Jewish-Polish immigrant parents as they’d get news of atrocities and the deaths of relatives and friends. “My childhood was about thinking about the kids over there (in Europe). My burden is living for those who didn’t,” he told the AP.

Sendak, his sister Natalie, and late brother Jack, were the last of the family on his father’s side since his other relatives didn’t move to the United States before the war. The only family member Sendak really knew on his mother’s side was his grandmother.

Sendak didn’t go to college and worked a string of odd jobs until he went to work at the famous toy store FAO Schwarz as a window dresser in 1948. But it was his childhood dream to be an illustrator and his break came in 1951 when he was commissioned to do the art for “Wonderful Farm” by Marcel Ayme.

By 1957 he was writing his own books.

Sendak received the international Hans Christian Andersen medal for illustration in 1970. In 1983 he won the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award from the American Library Association.

But it was “Brundibar,” a folk tale about two children who need to earn enough money to buy milk for their sick mother that Sendak completed when he was 75, that he was most proud of. “This is the closest thing to a perfect child I’ve ever had.”

Sendak stayed away from the book-signing bandwagon that many other authors use for publicity; he said he couldn’t stand the thought of parents dragging children to wait on line for hours to see a little old man in thick glasses.

“Kids don’t know about best sellers,” he said. “They go for what they enjoy. They aren’t star chasers and they don’t suck up. It’s why I like them.”

Ever since bursting on the music scene, the Canadian singer has been globetrotting and hanging with the likes of Usher — all while doing school work.

“I just finished high school,” he revealed to the U.K.’s Daily Telegraph. “I passed my test – I’m free! It was hard doing school and work every day.”

“That was something my mom really wanted me to do, so I had to do it for her,” Bieber, 18, said. “I mean, this kind of lifestyle has given me a different perspective on life. I’ve been able to travel the world. At school, usually you have to do a lot of writing and reading. I’m really not into that stuff. I like to be out there.”

Last week, Bieber’s “Boyfriend” video broke YouTube’s record for single-day views, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It logged more than 8 million views within 24 hours of hitting the web and currently has 18 million views and counting.

“Boyfriend” will appear on Bieber’s new album, due out in June.

A press release from Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home in Nashville said Lindsay died early Sunday morning after a brief illness. Funeral arrangements were still being made.

Lindsey was the beanie-wearing Goober on “The Andy Griffith Show” from 1964 to 1968 and its successor, “Mayberry RFD,” from 1968 to 1971. He played the same jovial character — a service station attendant — on “Hee Haw” from 1971 until it went out of production in 1993.

“America has grown up with me,” Lindsey said in an Associated Press interview in 1985. “Goober is every man; everyone finds something to like about ol’ Goober.”

He joined “The Andy Griffith Show” in 1964 when Jim Nabors, portraying Gomer Pyle, left the program. Goober Pyle, who had been mentioned on the show as Gomer’s cousin, thus replaced him.

“At that time, we were the best acting ensemble on TV. The scripts were terrific. Andy is the best script constructionist I’ve ever been involved with. And you have to lift your acting level up to his; he’s awfully good.”

In a statement released through the funeral home, Griffith said, “George Lindsey was my friend. I had great respect for his talent and his human spirit. In recent years, we spoke often by telephone. Our last conversation was a few days ago … I am happy to say that as we found ourselves in our eighties, we were not afraid to say, ‘I love you.’ That was the last thing George and I had to say to each other. ‘I love you.’”

Although he was best known as Goober, Lindsey had other roles during a long TV career. Earlier, he often was a “heavy” and once shot Matt Dillon on “Gunsmoke.”

His other TV credits included roles on “M*A*S*H”,” ”The Wonderful World of Disney,” ”CHIPs,” ”The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour,” ”The Real McCoys,” ”Rifleman,” ”The Alfred Hitchcock Hour,” ”Twilight Zone” and “Love American Style.”

Reflecting on his career, he said in 1985: “There’s a residual effect of knowing I’ve made America laugh. I’m not the only one, but I’ve contributed something.”

He had movie roles, too, appearing in “Cannonball Run II” and “Take This Job and Shove It.” His voice was used in animated Walt Disney features including “The Aristocats,” ”The Rescuers” and “Robin Hood.”

Lindsey was born in Jasper, Ala., the son of a butcher. He received a bachelor of science degree from Florence State Teachers College (now the University of North Alabama) in 1952 after majoring in physical education and biology and playing quarterback on the football team.

After spending three years in the Air Force, he worked one year as a high school baseball and basketball coach and history teacher near Huntsville, Ala.

In 1956, he attended the American Theatre Wing in New York City and began his professional career on Broadway, appearing in the musicals “All American” and “Wonderful Town.”

He moved to Hollywood in the early 1960s and then to Nashville in the early 1990s.

“There’s no place in the United States I can go that they don’t know me. They may not know me, but they know the character,” he told The Tennessean in 1980.

At that time, he said the Griffith show “was the first soft rural comedy with a moral.”

“We physically and mentally became those people when we got to the set.”

He did some standup comedy — ending the show by tap and break dancing.

One of his jokes:

“A football coach, holding a football, asks his quarterback, ‘Son, can you pass this?’ The player says, ‘Coach, I don’t even think I can swallow it.’”

Lindsey devoted much of his spare time to raising funds for the Alabama Special Olympics. For 17 years, he sponsored a celebrity golf tournament in Montgomery, Ala., that raised money for the mentally disabled.

The University of North Alabama awarded him an honorary doctorate in 1992, and he was affectionately called “Doctor Goober” by acquaintances after that.

The Marvel Comics mash-up “The Avengers” launched the summer movie season with a $200.3 million opening weekend domestically, by far the biggest debut ever.

If distributor Disney’s revenue estimate Sunday holds when the final weekend count is released Monday, “The Avengers” would be the first movie ever to haul in $200 million in a single weekend.

A $200 million total for every movie in release is considered a great weekend for the business as a whole, so “The Avengers” redefines the standards for a blockbuster debut.

“The Avengers” shot past the previous record of $169.2 million for the debut of last year’s “Harry Potter” finale.

With $441.5 million overseas since last week, “The Avengers” worldwide total climbed to $641.8 million.

Sunday’s two-hour season finale begins with the remaining four teams in Japan and ends in Hawaii.

The teams still up for the $1 million prize are: married Army couple Dave and Rachel, dating divorcees Vanessa and Ralph, “Big Brother” duo Brendon and Rachel and border patrol agents Art and J.J.

Team Army has scored the most first-place finishes of the race thus far with six, and are one away from tying the “Amazing Race” record.

Many viewers who followed this season were saddened last week when (SPOILER) after coming in last on two different non-elimination legs, funny and good-spirited Kentucky buddies Bopper and Mark were sent home. With them out of the Race, there is no apparent fan favorite remaining.

A preview for the finale episode shows teams competing on a Japanese game show, taking on one challenge involving jet-skis and another in which teams repel down what looks to be a very tall building.

It also teases that, for the first time, the finish line will not be the end of the “Race.”

Fox said Friday that the name of the film starring Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn as suburban neighborhood watch volunteers who uncover an extraterrestrial plot was changed in light of the shooting of an unarmed black teenager in Florida.

“As the subject matter of this alien invasion comedy bears no relation whatsoever to the recent tragic events in Florida, the studio altered the title to avoid any accidental or unintended misimpression that it might,” the studio said in a statement.

Fox previously pulled early promotional materials for the movie because of the Trayvon Martin case.

The unarmed, 17-year-old Martin was fatally shot in Sanford, Fla., by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman on Feb. 26, causing a national controversy.

“The Watch” is set for release July 27.

“We like to make it like roots inspired cooking. Whatever your Grandmother made or my Grandmother made. We put a twist on it,” chef Hanlan told CBS4’s Lisa Petrillo.

Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Dutch has something for everyone.

New on the menu for Spring is corvina ceviche. The magical marinade includes 3 citrus juices topped with fresh avocados, onions and jalapeno peppers. The plump seared scallops are served atop homemade kimchee and there’s a fresh sour cherry pie served with pistachio ice cream for dessert.

The Dutch isn’t cheap. Dinner prices range around $16.00 per appetizer. Entrees range from to $22 – $44 dollars.

On Mary Brickell Village, diners can get a traditional taste of Tuscany with a modern twist at Toscana Divino.

Executive chef Julian Baker is an Englishman who knows Italian cooking.

“How does an Englishman cook Italian so well?” asked Petrillo.

“Do you have to be French to French kiss?” joked Chef Julian.

Chef Julian spent years in Italy fine tuning his craft. At Toscana Divino he serves up everything from very affordable pasta dishes, seafood, burgers and more. For lunch, Lisa Petrillo recommends the boccocino. Its cod cooked in black butter served on top of a divine chick pea puree.

“This is a melt in your mouth delicate fish,” described Petrillo.

It’s all about Tuscany in this sexy space. Diners not only get to enjoy the delicious food, they can bring a piece of Tuscany home. There are beautiful purses and leather goods as well as barware and artwork from the village for sale inside the restaurant.

“The origin of Tuscany is our partner,” said General Manager Mauro Bortignon. “You can shop while you eat!”

Toscana Divino is located on 900 South Miami Avenue in Miami in the Mary Brickell Village.

Goldsmith is the executive pastry chef for the Genuine Hospitality Group and she’s the only Miami chef left in the “James Beard” finals, to be awarded on May 7th.

She’s famous for her bold yet whimsical desserts at Michael Schwartz’s Miami restaurants “Harry’s Pizzeria” and “Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink.”

CBS4’S Lisa Petrillo recently caught up with the pint sized pastry chef who has been wowing guests with her sweet and savory creations for decades.

“I went into this business because I love people. When people are happy, there’s nothing like ending a meal with something incredibly delicious and a smile on people’s faces. That’s honestly what makes me happy,” said Hedy.

Every day, Hedy creates her delicious desserts in the kitchen at Michael’s Genuine than walks to Harry’s Pizzeria, Michael’s second spot in the Miami Design District, where she delivers her delicacies by hand.

“It’s all about the street, connecting the two and its all day long and it’s great fun,” said Hedy

Hedy delivered delicious hand-made Anise Biscotti the day Petrillo paid a visit. But she also whips up an amazing Italian Zeppole, which is a deep fried dough dessert that’s light, airy and so delicious. There’s also a yummy chocolate chip cookie and a heavenly butterscotch pana cotta.

The James Beard Foundation Awards, for which Hedy is a finalist, are often called “The Oscars of Food.”

“I have so already won, laughed Hedy. “I’m so honored and so psyched about it. I just have to decide what to wear!”

The James Beard Awards will be handed out in New York city on May 7.

The 4-bedroom, 4 bath home is listed for $1.75 million and has recently hit the market.

While we’d like to tell you what went on in some of the rooms of the home, most of it carries its own MPAA rating.

What makes the home, um, unique, is that it was used to film some of the scenes for the most famous porn movie ever released, “Deep Throat.”

According to the Huffington Post, the house belonged to Baron Joseph “Sepy” De Bicske Dobronyi, who died in 2010. The Huff Post said the Hungarian playboy was often considered Miami’s Hugh Hefner.

Dobronyi boasted of affairs with Raquel Welch, Eva Gabor, Debbie Reynolds, Ava Gardner and Anita Eckberg, whose husband punched out Dobronyi after a nude sculpture of Eckberg showed up in a photo of Dobronyi in Playboy Magazine, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

“Deep Throat” filmed several scenes in the home and then later, the star of the movie, Linda Lovelace, decided to come back for more from Dobronyi. Lovelace sang the praises of Doronyi’s “physical properties” after a brief affair, according to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald.

The home has a list price of $1.75 million and is available for anyone, including anyone talking to Bob Woodward of the Washington Post in a dark parking garage.

The 27-year old actress was beaming as her star was unveiled.

“Never ever in my 20 years in this industry, would I ever, ever have thought my receiving this star would be a remote possibility,” said Johansson. “It has always seemed like an honor so out of reach, something left for stellar standouts of the golden age.”

She was joined by her “The Avengers” co-stars Jeremy Renner and Clark Gregg outside Madame Tussaud’s Hollywood.

Renner, who plays Hawkeye in Joss Whedon’s superhero blockbuster, couldn’t resist teasing Scarlett in his speech. “Working with her was tremendous…ly awful,” he joked.

“For six months, she continuously threw me around, beat me, stepped on me and wiped the floor with my dignity and self-respect every day – all with a smile on her face.”

Johansson plays “Black Widow” in “The Avengers”, which opens in theaters Friday.

Johansson got star star No. 2,470 in the motion-picture category.

She recently wrapped production on the independent film Under The Skin and next up will portray Janet Leigh in the film Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho, opposite Anthony Hopkins.

Veteran restaurateur and chef Richard Sandoval partnered with Kokoriko’s original owners to open its first restaurant in the U.S.. here on Brickell.

“We thought it was a great place to try this new restaurant,” said Sandoval. “There’s a huge Latin community here and this restaurant goes with what’s happening in Miami.”

Chef Richard cooked up a Kokoriko special: arroz aon pollo. It’s veggies, chicken ,white rice, and crispy skin, along with a special tomato based sofrito sauce, garlic butter and a fried egg.

The finished product is plated in a traditional clay pot from Colombia called a Chamba.

The vibe of restaurant is rustic yet modern. It’s a cool and relaxed spot where diners can feel free to share family style or take out.

“What we tried is to bring the flavor of Latin America,” said Chef Richard. “We are using reclaimed woods; t’s hip. The menu is re-done. We are taking their traditional recipes and they are modernized by me.”

And for the Brickell area, it’s a bargain.

“Everything is under 12 bucks so it’s very approachable very affordable that’s what we’re trying to do here” said Sandoval.

Lopez and Iglesias announced Monday in Los Angeles that the 20-city MEGA concert tour will begin July 14 in Montreal.

They’ll perform August 31st at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.

Latin artists Wisin Y Mandel will open the show.

Iglesias said the tour will include individual hits as well as collaborative performances.

He has songs with Wisin Y Yandel and with Lopez and and Wisin Y Yandel has a new song, called “Follow the Leader,” featuring Lopez.

According to OK! magazine, J-Lo said her beau, Casper Smart, will be among the tour choreographers.

Lopez said her 4-year-old twins, Max and Emme, will also be on the tour bus.

Tickets to the summer tour go on sale Friday, May 4, and you can get the rundown of all the dates on Lopez’s interactive website, which she re-launched Monday, JenniferLopez.com. It features, among other things, ticket giveaways and behind-the-scenes content from backstage at her concerts.

The tour will kick off Sept. 14 in Manchester, N.H. and end on Dec. 22^nd at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise.

Singer/guitarist Hunter Hayes will serve as the tour’s opening act.

Tickets go on sale starting May 11.

Underwood will donate a dollar from each ticket sold on the North American leg to the Red Cross.

The “American Idol” alum will be on the road behind her fourth album, “Blown Away,” released Tuesday. She co-wrote eight of the set’s 14 songs, including “Cupid’s Got A Shotgun,” featuring Brad Paisley on guitar.

She wrote a few of the songs with Josh Kear, known for several hits, including Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” and Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now.”

“When you go in to write, you have to be willing to sound stupid,” Underwood, 29, told the Associated Press. “Before you have a chance to think about something, you blurt it out and it doesn’t make any sense, and everybody gets a good laugh out of it. You can’t be afraid to sound completely dumb when you go to write.”

Underwood said she’s looking forward to taking the new songs on the road.

“I can’t wait to get back out on the road and perform new music from my new album for my fans,” she said in a statement. “We have a lot of exciting things planned!”

According to EW.com, Kutcher and stars will reportedly return for the upcoming 10th season and they are all close to signing new one-year deals.

Cryer and Jones are original cast members, while Kutcher joined the ensemble after Charlie Sheen was fired in Season 8 for his erratic behavior and drug use.

EW.com said the show has remained a ratings hit even after Sheen’s exit.

Deadline.com says Kutcher will earn about $700,000 per episode, Cryer “a bit less” and Jones will receive $300,000 an episode. Sources add that all three actors will receive a “modest signing bonus.”

Simpson gave birth to a daughter named Maxwell Drew Johnson in Los Angeles on Tuesday, said publicist Lauren Auslander.

Maxwell weighed 9 lbs. 13 ounces.

Since announcing her pregnancy last Halloween over Twitter, Simpson posed nude for the cover of Elle magazine, shared her cravings like salted cantaloupe and pop tarts and joked about her excess of amniotic fluid on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Maxwell is the first child for 31-year-old Simpson and her 32-year-old fiance Eric Johnson, a former NFL player.

The name is a tribute to the couple’s families: Maxwell is Johnson’s middle name and the maiden name of his mother, and Drew is Simpson’s mother’s maiden name.

“We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received,” Simpson said in a statement on her website. “This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!”

Simpson had come in for some ribbing about her seemingly endless pregnancy. She kept up public appearances, including on NBC’s “Fashion Star,” and used Twitter to send pregnancy updates, such as her dream of wearing a leopard caftan in the hospital.

Recently even celebrities like Katy Perry and Chelsea Handler posted tweets asking if the singer and fashion designer had given birth yet. “I’m getting frightened,” Handler said.

Simpson addressed the rumor mill herself in April, tweeting: “To everyone who keeps congratulating me on the birth of my baby girl … I’m still pregnant!”
