The Panthers have played better hockey under new coach Peter Horachek. He and his assistants, Stanley Cup winners John Madden and Brian Skrudland have brought a different mentality to the team. A mental approach of high energy and intensity is evident.
It’s always difficult when people you know lose jobs. But the Panthers were in dire need of change, thus the coaching staff was fired Friday.
Agenda’s been sparse lately because by the time I walked in each morning the Dolphins were coming apart even more. So we’ll dive into the Dolphins/Incognito/Martin story and look at the big college football weekend ahead.
It’s Halloween and there are, well, frankly some seriously scary stories coming out of South Florida in the sports world. Plus we’ll preview the Dolphins vs. Bengals Thursday night and the FSU vs. UM on Saturday all in the agenda.
Yikes, a nearly disastrous game for UM on Saturday; the Dolphins stink it up in New England; the Heat make their final roster cuts; Missouri is not quite up to the challenge and the SEC East is wide open. Now the Fins are on a short week, the Panthers are…well, the Panthers, and the Heat start the regular season this week. Oh and Mike Pouncey was slapped with a subpoena. Other than that, not much is going on…ha!
Not a lot of time for a full agenda today, but we’ll give you the picks of the weekend, game of the weekend, and your upset special all ahead in the agenda!
If you’re wondering why there was no agenda yesterday, it’s because I began working on the UM story around 9 a.m. and stopped around 3 p.m. Besides that story, the Dolphins have entered full-fledged desperation mode thanks to the signing of Bryant McKinnie; Mizzou preps for a battle with the Ol’ Ball Coach; and my thoughts on the UM fiasco all in today’s agenda.
Game 3 of the Florida Panthers’ six game homestand has the Stanley Cup champion Black Hawks in town. Both teams come off wins Saturday night; the Panthers beat Minnesota 2-1 in a shootout.
The Heat are in preseason, the Panthers are struggling, so there’s only one thing to talk about today and that’s FOOTBALL! We’ve got all sorts of action from the college and professional ranks as teams begin jockeying for position for bowls, championships, and the playoffs.
