TAMPA (CBSMiami) – An intense manhunt is underway in Tampa as police investigate whether a suspected serial killer has struck again.

Police swarmed a Tampa neighborhood early Tuesday morning after reports of gunfire.

They found the body of 60-year-old Ronald Felton in the street.

Police believe Felton was shot from behind in another unprovoked attack.

“We need to catch this killer before we have to notify one more family that one of their loved ones is dead. Not in our town, not in this neighborhood, not now, and we are going to stay on this until we catch this guy,” said Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn.

Felton’s death follows three others in the Seminole Heights neighborhood last month.

Anthony Naiboa was shot dead while walking in the neighborhood around 8 p.m.

Ten days earlier, Benjamin Mitchell was killed at a bus stop about a hundred yards away.

Less than a mile from there, police found Monica Hoffa’s body in a vacant lot.

“If you own a gun and it’s in your home, and I want you to go to your home right now in your house, and find out if your gun is still there,” said Tampa’s Chief of Police Brian Dugan.

Police previously released surveillance video of the suspect.

Since the murders, officers have saturated the area going door-to-door, looking for clues that could lead to an arrest.

Residents are on edge.

“I am in total and utter shock, as we all would be to have someone gunned down just steps away from my business but more importantly it’s a senseless, senseless murder,” said a business owner who identified herself as Lajuanda.

Police believe the person responsible for these murders lives in the community.

Mayor Buckhorn said officials will, “hunt this person down until we find him.”
