LAUDERHILL (CBSMiami) – One woman was killed and nine people were injured during a multi-vehicle crash in Lauderhill.

Late Thursday night, Lauderhill Police identified the woman killed as Helaine Elize and another woman injured as Elsiane Tulisse.

Police also said they're looking for a 2005 Red Dodge Neon, bearing Florida tag HGK-S80, which is described as having a black trunk with black rims.

They say all vehicles involved in the wreck remained on scene with the exception of the Dodge Neon.

Surveillance video obtained by CBS4 News shows the moments the crash took place on the 1300 hundred block of State Road 7 shortly after noon.

Lauderhill Police say Elize was killed, seven people were rushed to area hospitals and two people were treated on the scene following the impact.

"Witnesses observed two vehicles driving erratically on State Road 7.  Subsequently that caused a multi-car crash," said Lauderhill Police Department Lt. Michael Santiago.

Another camera angle shows the would-be pedestrian victims.  On the upper left hand side of the screen, Elize and Tulisse are seen standing on the sidewalk near the bus bench and on the upper right hand side of the screen – what appears to be a man and a woman sitting on two separate bus benches.

"All we heard was a big 'boom' so I happened to move my car up toward the distribution center and it was about four people that was on the grass," said Anthony, who was nearby when the crash happened.

After the silver vehicle and black SUV collided, the SUV came barreling down on the sidewalk where Elize and Tulisse were standing. You see them flinch right before the impact, unable to step out of the way.

After striking the two women, who go flying about 10 feet in the air, the SUV strikes both people sitting on the bench, despite one of them trying to run to safety.

"Two was on the streets.  One was pinned by the bench.  She died on site," said Anthony.

A portion of State Road 7 was closed off to traffic while police conducted their investigation and tried to figure out what happened that lead to such a tragedy.

If you have any information on the crash or on the Dodge Neon in question, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
