MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Two police officers were injured after an incident Wednesday morning in West Miami.

West Miami’s police chief said the officers suffered minor injuries.

Officers said they got a call around 9:30 a.m. about people smoking marijuana in the restroom of a CVS Pharmacy located at 6320 S.W. 8th Street.

Once two officers arrived, they confronted a man walking out of the restroom area.  Police say that’s when the man ran into one officer causing him to fall and then pushed another officer trying to arrest the man.

The man was able to run away but was later found in the area and arrested. Officers identified him as 21-year-old Raymond Flowers.

Flowers is facing charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, petty theft, and resisting arrest.
