MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Markeith Nickles' loved ones gathered outside the South Miami Market Saturday to remember him.

Just the day before someone shot and killed 22-year old Nickles right here.

"He loved everyone. Everyone loved him," said Shakesha Nickles, the victim's mother.  "You left behind his two year old daughter. Her birthday is next month. She'll never be able to see her father again. I'll  never be able to hear his voice again. Never. You took away something special from me. I will never be able to get that back."

South Miami Police swarmed the market just off 57th Avenue and US-1 before noon Friday, doing their best to keep things calm.

People there said Nickles was talking to a girl inside the store when another man who got offended left and came back with a gun.

"They argued," Nickles' aunt Brandy Wells said.  "He thought about it. He had time to go to the car, come back and shoot my nephew dead. That was premeditated. You knew exactly what you were doing."

The family said they knew who the shooter is, calling him armed and dangerous.

As Nickles' family and friends held candles, and held hands, during Saturday's vigil, justice for the young father was on all their minds.

"I just want justice for my son," said Shakesha. "I'm still in disbelief right now. I'm still in shock. I just want whoever you are to come forward."

Miami Police are asking for anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
