The lights, the decorations, the store sales, and a need to relieve the stress of the holidays are some of the many reasons to visit one of the family-friendly events below. Miami and the surrounding areas provide some of the best holiday activities and attractions in South Florida.

Deering Holiday Wonderland

At Deering Holiday Wonderland, visitors can see holiday decorations and accents that have been designed and created by local community organizations and garden clubs. Stroll through this magnificent estate on your own or take a guided tour. Visitors can even take a guided canoe trip to the small island of Chicken Key. Canoe trips do require an additional fee. The tree lighting ceremony at Deering Holiday Wonderland is scheduled for Friday, December 7th from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Hot chocolate and cookies will be available during the tree lighting ceremony. The cost to enter the Deering Holiday Wonderland is $14 for adults and $7 for children ages 4 -14.

Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade

The Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade is a dazzling display of awe-inspiring boats designed and decorated beautiful holiday light displays. The parade begins in downtown Fort Lauderdale along the New River. The boat parade will then travel north on the Intracoastal to Lake Santa Barbara. There are entry fees for boats that wish to enter the boat parade, but viewers may watch the flotilla of decorated boats at no charge anywhere along the 12-mile parade route. There will also be music, live entertainment and vendors available for the enjoyment of visitors.

54th Christmas On Las Olas

The various businesses along Las Olas Blvd have joined together to sponsor Christmas On Las Olas for over 50 years. This free holiday event will feature local church choirs and school choirs performing on each of the three stages along Las Olas Boulevard. There will also be ice skating on a custom rink at 8th Ave., sledding down a two-story slope on another street, and ELF, The Movie showing at another venue along the boulevard. There will be over 60 food & beverage vendors and holiday booths along Las Olas Boulevard.

Children visiting Dolphin Mall can register to be a part of Santa's elite flight crew from now until December 24th. All crew members will receive a personalized badge that can be used to help Santa and his elves prepare for their magical journey on Christmas eve. Participants can don a virtual flight suit and learn the ins and outs of navigation. members of the flight crew can even help power the sleigh and have a personalized visit with Santa. Photos are available for a small fee.

Tickets for this winter-only event ranges from $22.43 up to $31.78 for a one day pass. Season passes start at $44.86. For the price of admission, visitors to Santa's Enchanted Forest can enjoy over 100 carnival rides, attractions, shows, roller coasters, and games. mazes, petting zoos, climbing walls, and more fantastic activities are available for the enjoyment of visitors.

The Miami Lantern Light Festival features custom built Chinese lanterns in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors. From the small and intricate to hundreds of feet long, these lanterns are a delight to see. Admission costs $25 for adlts and $21 for children (2-15) and seniors.
