MIAMI (CBSMiami) — People are camping out Thursday night – and not just at their favorite stores ahead of Black Friday.

Dozens are at lined up in a Little Havana neighborhood for a chance to get a voucher for a free holiday food basket.

"Night and day, I live here," one man told CBS4's Silva Harapetian. "I have my corner here."

He was one among dozens already in line waiting for a ticket from the Latin Chamber of Commerce, CAMACOL, that will give him a food basket worth $250.

The vouchers will be handed out six days from Thanksgiving – on Wednesday, November 30, at 8:00 a.m.

"I bring my gallons of water, somebody come and bring food, and I wait," said Alberto Orosco.

CAMACOL does this every year. And every year hundreds of people wait in line for the voucher. The people then wait in line again for the actual basket of food.

In total, CAMACOL will pass out 3,000 baskets. Each basket has enough food meant for 10 people. It comes with fixings for a traditional Latin "Noche Buena" meal.

The 3,000 people who receive a voucher will have to return to the same Little Havana spot on Wednesday, December 14, and bring their voucher, a valid id and a social security card to pick up their baskets of food.
