Swedish Runner Wins Half-Marathon At Key Largo Bridge Run

KEY LARGO (FKNB) -- A Swedish runner has won the overall men's half-marathon title at the eighth annual Key Largo Bridge Run in the Florida Keys.

Stefan Lothede, 35, of Nybro, Sweden, placed a time of one hour, 27 minutes and 49 seconds on Saturday.

Sunrise, Florida, resident Jessica Wagner, 44, ran 01:39:58 to win the women's division.

Overall men's 10K division winner Tim Kelly of Miramar, Florida, posted a time of 44:36. Anda Valtere from Northern Europe's Republic of Latvia won the women's division with a time of 45:22.

Men's and women's 5K division winners, Ayden Child, 15, of Marathon, Florida, and Katie Robinson, 16, of Tavernier, Florida, posted timea of 18:36 and 23:05, respectively.

Beginning in Key Largo, the event took the field of 465 runners over the 1.4-mile-long Jewfish Creek Bridge at the top of the Florida Keys Overseas Highway to the eastern fringes of Florida's Everglades and back.
