MIAMI (CBSMiami) – People across Dade and Broward County are making their way to the polls as Sunday is the final day of early voting in Florida.

There have already been 1.2 million ballots cast in South Florida alone, with those votes either coming by mail or at an early voting precinct.

Across the state of Florida 5.7 million people have already voted.

People began lining up as early as 6:15 a.m. outside the Southwest Regional Library in Pembroke Pines to vote early on Sunday morning. The polls will close at 7 p.m.

Nearly 30,000 people have voted early at the library over the past two weeks. Only one of the 21 early voting sites in Broward has seen higher numbers, Northwest Regional Library in Plantation.

Stanley Moore, of Miramar, has been an American citizen since 2008. He believes in the power of casting your ballot.

"If everyone stayed home and didn't vote we'd have chaos," said Stanley Moore, a recent American citizen. "It's part of your civic duty.  You make your choice, you vote for your candidate. If the candidate loses, you've done your duty."

Elections officials are expecting a large turnout on the final day of early voting in Broward County.

As for Dade County, voters began lining up as early as 6 a.m.

A little rain didn't stop anyone as voters began opening umbrellas, well prepared for the situation.

One voter told CBS4's Silva Harapetian that her decision came down to simply wanting a change.

"Even though I don't like either one of them, I wanted a little bit of change," said Barbara Quasada. "Hillary Clinton will be the same ol', same ol' so I want a change."
