MIAMI (CBSMiami) --The family of a grandfather who was killed on the same night he planned to retire is pleading for information in his case.

Ali Arezoumandifar, 79, was shot and killed during a robbery at a liquor market on November 22, 2015. He had planned to officially retire after his shift that same night.

Those responsible for his death got away.

Nearly a year later, his daughter joined by a Boynton Beach detective, asked for anyone with information to come forward so they may bring those responsible to justice.

"The last year has not been easy at all. So we're encouraging anybody with any information to please come forward," said Soheila Marchal, Arezoumandifar's daughter.

Police said they have identified suspects or persons of interest in the case.

"The suspects that we've identified are from the South Florida area; however, they're familiar with Boynton Beach. We will not rest or stop working until we bring justice to this family," said Det. Marco Villari. "At this point, we cannot elaborate any further."

According to the Sun-Sentinel,  Arezoumandifar, of Jupiter, had recently sold Liquor Market located at 1660 S. Congress. He was helping the new owners learn to run the business.

Police said a customer found him dead behind the counter of the store. Detectives said they are not sure if there was a struggle but they know he was shot while standing.

Anyone with information in the case is urged to call Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers at 800-458-TIPS.

"We urge anybody with information to come forward. They can remain anonymous," said Det. Villari
