MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Four people were injured when gunfire erupted in front a Miami Gardens home.

The shooting happened just after 1:30 a.m. Friday at 2841 NW 173rd Terrace.

"I was in my bed sleeping and I heard bam, bam, bam, bam and I turned over and I'm listening for screaming but I didn't hearing anything so I went back to sleep," said Gloria Smith. "I got up like an hour later to go to the bathroom and I see the kids and the (police) lights going and I thought 'oh my gosh, what's happened'. They said my neighbor got shot up."

Neighbors said the four people were sitting on the front porch talking when the shooting happened.

Smith added that this was not the first time something like this has happened in the neighborhood.

"This is crazy, the need to stop," said Smith. "This is life, you can't take it back when someone is dead."

The family one of the injured men identified his as 25-year-old Andrew Nance .

"I ran out here to the porch, he said to call 911, he had been shot," said Nance's grandmother, Catherine Pridgen.

Nance and two others were taken to Aventura Hospital by ambulance. The fourth man's injuries were more serious so he was airlifted there.

Nance, who Pridgen said was shot in the knee, did a Facebook Live as he was being treated at the hospital.

Pridgen said her grandson works as a security guard Port Miami and was not a trouble maker. She said she had no idea why someone would want to shoot him.

"He come home from work and was sitting on the porch talking, that's all," she said.

Police have not said what may have led to the shooting.
