Jay Ajayi Makes History With Second Consecutive 200 Yard Day

Ryan Mayer

Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi broke out in a big way during last week's game 30-16 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The second-year back had 25 carries for 204 yards and two touchdowns. This week, with a date against the Bills on the schedule, it looked doubtful that he'd be able to replicate that performance. The Bills were allowing just 3.8 yards per carry heading into the game.

That didn't matter as Ajayi broke loose once again for 214 yards on 29 carries and one touchdown. The touchdown came at the end of a 10-play, 75-yard drive, when Ajayi punched it in from four yards out.

Then, on the following drive, Ajayi broke off a 53-yard run to put the Dolphins in Bills territory once again.

Unfortunately for Ajayi, that drive ended in a punt. But, he would continue to eat the Bills defense up as he pushed his way past the 200-yard mark in the fourth quarter. In passing 200 yards, Ajayi joined a pretty exclusive list of NFL legends.

That's some elite company for Ajayi. He's now rushed for 422 yards in the last two games after rushing for 117 yards combined in the first four games of the season. Ajayi's effort helped the Dolphins pick up their second straight win as they beat the Bills 28-25 to move to 3-4 on the season.
