Pilot Makes Belly Landing At Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - Quite a scare for the pilot of a small plane after he was forced to make a belly landing at Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport.

Ft. Lauderdale Fire Rescue quickly foamed down Beech G18S to put out the fire.

The two people on board were not injured. The cause of the landing gear failure is under investigation.

Federal Aviation Administration records show the plane is registered to a resident of West Des Moines, Iowa.
