Jay Ajayi Caps Off Big Day With 62-Yard TD Run

Ryan Mayer

The Miami Dolphins have been struggling on the offensive side of the ball through the first five weeks of the season. Part of the reason for those struggles has been a running game that has been anemic, averaging just 72.4 yards per game. That ranks 31st in the league, and it didn't look promising for that number to improve against a Steelers defense that ranked 5th in the league coming in to Sunday's game.

However, second-year running back Jay Ajayi broke out with a huge performance, carrying the ball 25 times for 204 yards and two touchdowns. The second touchdown essentially clinched the game as the Dolphins were up just eight, 23-15, with under a minute remaining. Ajayi took the handoff and burst through the hole, sprinting away from defenders en route to a 62-yard touchdown.

The Dolphins won 30-15 to improve their record to 2-4 on the season.
