Florida Panthers head coach Gerard Gallant joined the Joe Rose Show on 560 WQAM to preview the team’s season opener tomorrow. He also discusses the biggest surprises heading into the season, his expectations for this upcoming season and battling through a couple of key injuries right off the bat.

On missing injured forwards Nick Bjugstad and Jonathan Huberdeau: “They are obviously big losses, they were very important player to our team, two young superstars of our team.”

On the team’s goals: “We gotta start one game at a time and find a way to get to the top of the division again. It’s all about making the playoffs now. We talk about winning the Stanley Cup, well the only way you win the Stanley Cup is you get in the playoffs and that’s gonna be a battle. If we’re not at our best every night we won’t be a playoff team.”
