HILLSBORO BEACH (CBSMiami) – A South Florida woman looking to ‘hang 10’ in Deerfield Beach ‘wiped out’ instead in Hillsboro Beach.

The 33-year-old surfer was driving from Pompano Beach to Deerfield Beach seeking better waves when her car hydroplaned on 900 Hillsboro Mile.

Her car ended up in the Intracoastal Waterway around 4:00 p.m.

It was very windy and rainy at the time due to Hurricane Matthew.

Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles said the woman was not seriously hurt.
