OAKLAND (CBSMiami) - Broward Sheriff's deputies are looking for a couple spotted shopping with two children and a stolen credit card, investigators said.

Cameras captured the couple deputies are looking for shopping at an Oakland Park Home Depot located at 1701 W. Oakland Park Blvd. on June 26th.

Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) investigators said looking like a family was all part of a scheme.

"They went in. They wanted to look like a family. They were using the kids as a way to distract employees so that they wouldn't suspect them of anything," said Gina Carter with BSO.

Deputies said the couple accompanied by two young boys paid for a rake with the card that had been reported from a Palm Beach resident just a day before. The couple then reportedly left the store with a lawnmower they had never paid for and the boys by their side.

"What takes this really to the next level, what we find to be really heinous is the use of the kids in the act of stealing.  So they're bringing these kids in, whether or not the kids are aware of what's happening, we don't know, what we do know is that now they're part of this criminal act," said Carter.

"I think it's terrible. I think it's terrible," said Leslie Esparza, a mother who saw the video of the incident.

The man they are looking for has tattoos on his forearms. The female also has a large tattoo on her chest.

The couple was seen leaving in a black Chevy Camaro.

Investigators are asking anyone who recognizes the couple to call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS. Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
